<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING COMISSION <br />MINUTES - JULY 26, 1988 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Morgan called the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m. <br />Present: M. Betts. R. Bierman, R. Bowen, B. Gorris, J. Thomas, E. Traczyk, <br />and T. Morgan <br />Also Present: Assistant Law Director J. Dubelko, BuildinJ Commissioner <br />D. Conway, Consulting City Engineer T. Boyer, City Forester <br />D. Wendell, and Clerk of Commissions B. Oring <br />II. REVIET7 AND CORRECTION OF P4INLTTES: <br />P1r. Thomas noted that the minutes had been amended previously..by the clerk to <br />include the word "approval" in the motion for OfficeMax, motion should read: <br />"....has obtained approval by the landlord..." J. Thomas moved-to approve <br />the minutes of July 12, 1988 as corrected, seconded by E. Traczyk, and <br />unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT P.EOUESTS: <br />1) Church of St. Clarence, 30106 Lorain Road <br />Proposal to add church to existing activity-center. <br />Heard by the Board of Zoning Appeals June 8, 1988 <br />(Heard by Architectural Board of Review July 20, 1988). <br />Building Commissioner Conway presented revised site plan which included <br />detailed landscape plan that was approved by the Architectural Board of <br />Review. Mr. Zarzycki, architect, explained that the dumnster will be <br />screened on all four sides (not shown on plans), and that mechanical units <br />on the roof will not ba visible. He presented samples of. the brick that <br />is to be used and explained that since it was impossible to match the <br />existing brick because of aging, he had chosen a compatible brick which <br />has more texture and character. He showed a color rendering and advised <br />that there would be subdued lighting from the ground and that the bell <br />tower would also be illuminated. Mr. Zarzycki advised the forester that <br />the large pine tree in the front would have to be removed, but they would <br />be nlanting six 2z to 3 inch caliber pin oaks. J. Thomas moved that the <br />Planning Commission approve the proposal to add a church to the existing <br />activity center at 30106 Lorain Road and that the proposal be forwarded to <br />the BZD Committee of Council and also noting that the dumnster will be <br />screened.on all sides with wood, seconded by E. Traczyk, and unanimously <br />approved. <br />2) Valvoline Instant Oil Change, 24866 Lorain Road Proposal to construct building. . ? <br />, (Heard by Architectural-Board of Review July 20, 1988). <br />L. Bradshaw, representing Valvoline,.presented revised drawings showing <br />building relocated to the west side of the property as recommended by the <br />Commission. The Architectural Board:had requested that a board on board
