Betts, R. Bierman, R. Bowen, B. Gorris, J. Thomas, E. Traczyk, <br />and T. Morgan <br />Also Present: Assistant Law Director J. Dubleko, Building Commissioner <br />D. Conway, Consulting City Engineer T. Boyer, and Clerk of <br />Commissions B. Oring. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTESc <br />B. Gorris moved to approve the Planning Commission minutes of July 26, 1988, <br />seconded by E. Traczyk, and unanimously approved. <br />B. Gorris moved to approve the minutes of the special Planning Commission <br />meetin, of August 2, 1988, seconded by R. Bierman, and unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />1) Chi-Chi's Mexican Restaurante, 26410 Great Northern Shopping Plaza <br />Proposal for minor revision to exterior of restaurant (proposal differs <br />from that previously heard by Planning Gommission June 23, 1987). <br />Mr. Bobets, representing Chi-Chi's, presented a colored rendering and <br />explained that they would be adding a 3 inch red stripe and 12 inch Q,reen <br />stripe to the top exterior of tfie building and covering the trellis over <br />the entrance with a duralast type of inembrane. Mr. Nlorgan pointed out <br />that the rendering differed somewhat from the plans. Mr. Bobets explained <br />that the blue print reflects-what actually is planned. He presented <br />photographs of existing facilities with similar treatments. J. Thomas <br />moved to forward the.proposal for the revision to the exterior of Chi-Chi's <br />Restaurante to the Architectural Board of Review, seconded by E. Traczyk, <br />and unanimously approved. <br />2) Aetna Door Company, 31546 Lorain Road <br />Revision of parking plan. (Variance granted by Board of Zoning AppealS <br />July 6, 1988). <br />Proposal was presented by A. Kanareff, engineer, who explained that a <br />variance had been received in order to park in the 100 foot front set <br />back, however, they were only allowed to have a single driveway with 8 <br />parallel parking spaces along the drive. He explained that there was a <br />problem with the original plan since parking spaces were blocked when <br />semis were in the loading zone. An addition to the building is planned <br />but has not been constructed as yet. Mr. Kanareff did not have a copy of <br />the original plans that were approved about a year ago. Building Commis- <br />sioner Conway advised that he could bring those plans to the next meeting. <br />Mr. Morgan advised that the Board of Zoning Appeals had approved the <br />variance contingent upon the Planning Commission and the Architectural <br />Board of Review approval.
