ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Morgan called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. <br />Present: M. Betts, R. Bierman, R. Bowen, B. Gorris, J. Thomas, E. Traczyk, <br />and T. Morgan. <br />Also Present: Building Commissioner D. Conway, Assistant Law Director J. <br />Dubelko, Consulting City Engineer T. Boyer, and Clerk of <br />Commissions B. Oring, <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />B. Gorris moved to approve the minutes of September 27, 1988 as submitted, <br />seconded by E. Traczyk, and unanimously.approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />1) Ghi-Chi's Mexican Restaurante, 26410 Great Northern Shoppiizg Plaza <br />Proposal for minor revision to exterior of restaurant <br />Heard by Architectural Board of Review on September 21, 1988. <br />Tabled by Planning Commission on September 27, 1988. <br />Proposal had been approved as presented by the Architectural Board of <br />Review. Mr. Babets, representing Chi-Chi's, explained that they are <br />adding two 3 inch red stripes with a 12 inch kelly green stripe in the <br />- middle, and are covering the trellis entrance way. R. Bierman moved <br />to approve the proposal for a minor revision to the exterior of the <br />entrance at 26410 Great Northern Shopping Plaza, Chi-Chi's Mexican <br />Restaurant, seconded by R. Bowen, and unanimously approved. <br />2) Nightfall Night-Club, 30850 Lorain Road <br />Review of site plan (continued from Plannir.g Commission meeting of <br />Januray 27, 1987 as ordered by the court). <br />Heard by Architectural Board of Review September 21, 1988. <br />No representative present, some discussion later in meeting. <br />3) McDonald's Restaurant, 27322 Lorain Road <br />Proposal to construct restaurant (existing building to be demolished). <br />(Heard by Board of Zoning Appeals October 5, 1988), <br />Chairman Morgan advised.that the Board of Zoning Appeals had granted a <br />variance for parking on the-basis that these spaces were required for <br />the community room which is not to be used at peak hours; at that meet- <br />ing the Law Director had advised that the restaurant and commun:?ty room <br />could be considered as shared facilities. Building CommissioneY Conway <br />advised that 103 parking spaces are required and 66 are being provided <br />and submitted a survey showing percentage of occupancy during various <br />times of the day. Mr. Glueck, representing McDonald's, explained that <br />the existing building with 118 seats would be demolished, a new larger <br />"k
