NORTH OLMSTED LANDMARKS COMMISSION May 9, 1988 Meeting Members Present: Mike Patton-Chairperson, Pat Bahas-City Council Representative, Lois Van Auken, Russ Bierman, Joe Lang, & Anthony Smeraldi. OLD BUSINESS : Old Town Hall: The City is still waiting on parts to finish the?New Heating 5ystem in Old Town Hall. The original radiator parts were going to be used but it was discovered that the old pipes could not handle the amount of heat the new furnace would be-putting out.@ The new parts (convector parts) should arrive by mid-May and be installed within a week of their arriving. Because of the cost of the convector parts there will not be any funds available to pay for the plumbing and the lavatories. It was thought that there would be about $5000.00 available to pay for plumbing and at least one lavatory. Due to the cost of the heating parts there will not be enough funds available to start on the plumbing. The city lost about $911.00 in Community development grants money because the additional heating expense used up most of the available $ 5000.00 and the city, could find no legitimate use for the $ 911.00. There is approximately $75,000.00 in Community Development funds, however it is not likely that the city would be awarded any of these funds to be applied to Old Town Hall. The next project for Old Town Hall is the plumbing and the lavatories. The following repairs have been completed on Old Town Hall: 1) Roof Repaired 2) Re-Painted 3) Re-Pointing of the Chimney Brick 4) 5) 6) Main Pro 1) 2) 3) 4) The Access Ramps Electrical work by N.O. A new Water line jects to be done on Old Plumbing and Lavatories Front Steps Removal of Canopy Roof interior work Service Dept. Town Hall: over Basement steps
