CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVTEUl <br />MINUTES-JULY 19, .1989 <br />I., ROLL CALL: <br />Acting Chairman Zergott called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. <br />Present: T. Gallagher, Y. Sohn, and B. Zergott <br />Absent: M. Case. <br />Also Present: Building Commissioner Conway and Clerk of Commissions Oring. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />B. Zergott moved to approve the minutes of June 21, 1989 as presented, <br />seconded by T. Gallagher, and unanimously approved. <br />III. SIGNS: <br />Heard with building plans. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />No items <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />1) Ames Department Store (formerly Zayre's), 25999 Lorain Road <br />Proposal for exterior alteration to store front. <br />Referred by Planning Corsmission July 11, 1989. <br />Mr. Taimuty, architect, advised that they will be removing the large <br />Zayre sign on the building and installing a 50 foot long box canopy in <br />an Alumax Statuary Bronze (SB#20) with white plexiglass letters. He <br />expl.ainad that they are not changing the windows and he has been given <br />no information as to the existing pole sign. Mr. Conway advised that <br />the Zayre pele sign would have to be removed because with the change of <br />ownership it would loose its grandfather status. Mr. Sohn would like <br />the aluminium facia along the windows at least repainted the same color <br />s.ince.it looks dirty. Mr. Taimuty beleived that it was white and will <br />recommend this to the owners. T. Gallagher moved that the Ames Depart- <br />ment Store proposal be approved with the recommendation that the facia <br />above the windows be painted white, seconded by B. Zergott, and unani- <br />mously approved. <br />2) Toys "R" Us, 27048 Lorain Road <br />kZinor exterior revision to previously approved building. <br />(Origin-aIly approved by Planning Commission April 11, 1989) <br />Referred by Planning Commission July 11, 1989. <br />Mra Ricci and Mr. Nicholson presented a colored rendering and plans <br />of the new type building and explained that while they were presenting <br />their original proposal to the city, the coporate offices were devel- <br />oping a new prototype. This building will be the same size and height <br />and the materials are basically the same. The building will be gray
