CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />•MINUTES - MARCH 1, 1989 <br />Chairman Bugala called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />Present: B. Grace,.J. Helon, T. Restifo, and R. Bugala <br />Absent: R. Gomersall <br />Also Present: Law Director M. Gareau, Building Commissioner D. Conway, and <br />Clerk of Commissions B. Oring. <br />Chairman Bugala corrected the minutes of February lst on the last page, <br />second last line delete "that" , should read "...that a variance..." <br />B. Grace moved to approve the minutes of February 1, 1989 as corrected, <br />seconded by T. Restifo, and unanimously approved. <br />1. Sohio Gas Station, 25295 Lorain Road <br />No representative present at this time heard later in meeting. <br />2. Ostendorf-Morris Company, property located to the rear of lots facing Kennedy <br />Ridge Road, adjacent to I-480. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 28 square foot variance for temporary <br />real estate sign. Vilation of Ord. 87-93, Section 1163.05(c)1 (referred by <br />Section 1163.08. <br />Chairman Bugala called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. Mercuri, representing Ostendorf-Morris. Board had no <br />problems with the request, but Mr. Grace believed that a time limit should be <br />stipulated. It was agreed that one year would be sufficient. J. Helon moved <br />to grant a 28 square foot variance for a temporary real estate sign for the <br />Ostendorf-Morris Company, property located to the rear of lots facing Kennedy <br />Ridge Road, adjacent to I-480 for a period of one year, seconded by B. Grace, <br />and unanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />1. Sohio Gas Station, 25295 Lorain Road (heard at this point). <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 76.92 square foot variance for total <br />sign area to install wall sign. Violation of Ord. 87-93, Section 1163.06(d). <br />(Variance has been reduced from that denied on November 2, 1988), <br />Chairntan Bugala called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. Procaccini, the owner, who explained that he originally <br />asked for a 64 square foot ground sign which was denied. This request is <br />more than a 25% reduction of the total variance previously requested and <br />will be a wall sign to be placed on the east wall facing Great Northern Blvd. <br />The Board had no objection. B. Grace moved to grant the 76.92 square foot <br />variance for total sign area to install a wall sign, seconded by T. Restifo, <br />and unanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />3. Walter W. Cox, 29594 Josephine Dr. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request variance to eliminate 6 foot fence <br />around pool (existing 4 foot fence around yard). Violation of Ord. 87-93, <br />Section 1163.08). <br />Chairman Bugala called all interested parties before the Board. The.oath was <br />administered to Mrs. Cox, P4r: Bugala pointed out that in their original re- <br />quest they had planned to put a 2 foot fence around the pool itself. Mrs. Cox •
