I. Friday's, 5200 Great Northern Mall
Proposal to add fenced-in outdoor eating area.
Mro McDonough, architect, explained that the former patio had been en-
closed with a greenhouse and now a new 900 square foot area is to be
fenced in with a wrought iron railing to the east of the greenhouse. He
presented pictures of the area for clarification and explained the patio
will be located on the existing concrete area; will not be extending out
further than the planters; and a 5 foot sidewalk will remain. In response
to the members questions, he advised that no awnings were planned and
Building Commissioner Conway advised that they would not have to present
a proposal for awnings to the Commission unless the approval of the patio
stipulated it. Mr. Betts believed that this condition should be stipulated
since there are enough red and white awnings there now. The members
agreed that this stipulation should be made and also that this proposal
need not be sent to the Architectural Review Board. M. Betts moved to
approve the proposal to acld a fenced in outdoor eating area for T.G.I..
Friday's subject to the understanding that if any additional awnings are
ever to be installed at this facility, approval by this board would be
required, seconded by J.
