e • CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES - MAY 8, 1990 I. ROLL CALL: Chairman Thomas called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. Presentt R. Bierman, B. Gorris, T. Morgan, L. Orlowski, and J. Thomas Mr. Bowen arrived at 8:05 pom. Also Present: Assistant Law Director Dube.lko, Building Commissioner Conway Assistant City Engineer McDermott, and Clerk of Commissions Oring. II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: T. Morgan moved to accept the minutes of April 24, 1990 as presented, seconded by R. Bierman, and unanimously approved. III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: 1) Nemeth Commercial Building, 29310 to 29352 Lorain Road Revised plans to construct addition to parking area. (Tabled at meeting of March 27, 1990) No representative was presente Chairman Thomas noted that Mr. Nemeth , was informed previously that if he were absent from another meeting; action would be taken on his development. B. Gorris moved that, based on the fact that Mr. Nemeth did not deem it necessary to come to this meeting, I move that the Nemeth Commercial Building be disappLoued. Mr. Thomas stated that the motion should be made in the affirmative. B. Gorris moved to approve the Nemeth Commercial Building, seconded by T. Morgan. Roll call on motion: Gorris, P4organ, Bierman, Bowen, Orlowski, and Thomas, zo. Motion failed to pass: Mr. Thomas stated that the plans have been rejected, but that Mr. Nemeth would have the oppor*unity to place his proposal on a future Planning Commission agenda, but he should be informed that the Commission will expect him to be present. 2) Barlo. Plaza, 30572 Lorain Road Proposal to construct addition to existing retail building. Tabled at meeting of April 24, .1990. Mr. Acciarri, architect, explained th-at the revised plans eliminate the detached storage building, showing only the 5,400 square foot addition to the existing retail building. All materials will match the present building and a six foot board on board fence will be installed along the north and east.property lines as requested by the neighbors. Mr. Thomas questioned if the row of trees along the north east corner are on this property. Mr. Acciarri believed that they were on the neiglibors' pro- perty, but assured him that the fence'will be installed south of these trees even though it is shown on the property line. Mr. Thomas also pointed out that'there was a 10 square foot area behind the building and beside the parking lot that is filled with slag and old building materials which tie would like.cleaned up and landscaped. He also noted that there
