CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW MINUTES - SEPTIIKBIIt 19, 1990 I. ROLL CALL: Chairwoman Case called the meeting to order at 5:40 p.m. Present: M. Case, T. Gallagher, Y. Sohn, and B. Zergott Also Present: Building Commissioner Conway and Clerk of Commissions Oring. II. REVIEnT ANID CORRECTION OF NIINUTES : B. Zergott moved to accept the minutes of July 18, 1990, seconded by T. Gallagher, and unanimously approved. III. SIGNS: 1) Brendan Lane Shopping Center, 23609 to 23657 Lorain Road. Ground sign discussed with building plans. IV. OLD BUSINESS: No items. V. NEW BiJSINESS : 1) Great Northern Plaza North (Biskind Development Company). Proposal to demolisli arcade canopy. , Mr. Papandreas, representing Biskind Development Company, explained that they would like to take down the canopy that extends over the sidewalk between the east and west buildings, in order to open up the visibility to the arcade and Plaza South. This will also eliminate arcade and Plaza South tenants requesting signage on the canopy. He pointed out that the variance for the new signage program was granted by the Board of Zoning Appeals on the condition.that two tenants either remove their canopy signs or be eliminated on the new signs. Removing the canopy is - in keeping with their proposed•renovation which should be presented.to the Planning Ccmmission prior to the spring of 1991. The canopies will be connected to those- on either side of the arcade. He further advised that a landscape plan for the grass area between the arcade buildings will be presented at a later .time. Members had no problem with the proposal. B. Zergott moved to aceept the proposal to demolish the arcade canopy for Great Northern Plaza North, seconded by Y. Sohn, and unanimously approved. 2) Brendan Lane Shopping Center, 23609 to 23657 Lorain Road. Proposal to demolish arcade canopy. 1
