NEW BUSINESS:
1) Suburban Auto Body, 4960 Dover Center Road
Proposal to construct addition.
Variance and special permit granted by the Board of Zoning Appeals
October 3, 1990.
Referred by Planning Comnission September 11, 1990a
Mr. K. Kanareff, builder and Mra Papotto, owner; explained that this
adciition to the rear of the buildi.ng will improve the circulation within
the shop; will contain some i.ndoor parki.ng; and will clean up the rear
of the property (the existing garage and driveway will be removed).
Fencing and landscaping will not be changed: The forester had no
problem wi.th the removal of the two boxelder trees. Mr. Kanareff
explained that the material will match the existing with drivit on the
Mill Road elevation and an integrally colored 8 inch block will be used
on the rear. He had no marnifacturers name or color identification of
these materials available. There will be some pre-manufactured pa.int
booths which will have some type of vents on the roof. Mr. Gallagher
pointed out that the addition would not be very visible, but the vents
might be especially if they were the mushroom type units; he suggested
that they might add a parapet of two or three cou.rses of the block. Mr.
Papotto explained that most of the make up air system would be in the
booth. Mre Kanareff advised that they would screen them. Building
Commissioner Conway advised that they are required to screen them so
that they cannot be seen from the center-line of the road. It was
suggested that a board on board screen to match the existi.ng fence could
be used. Mr. Sohn would like to see a sight line drawing of the roof
top units and the type of screening to be used. Mr. Kanareff stated that
they would probably screen it on all four sides. In reference to the
lighting, Mr. Papotto stated that he would be moving the existing light
onto this building, and advised that this light does not light their
entire parking lot. Mr. Conway suggested that he might use a C.E.I.
light which could be directed away from other properties and toward his
building, but shielded so it would not shine on the condominiums near
him. Y. Sohn moved to approve. as presented.with the provision that the
rrianufacturers' names and numbers of all materials and a'sight line
1
