<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ARCfIITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW <br />MINUTES - NOVIIKBER 21, 1990 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairwoman Case called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />Present: M. Case, T. Gallagher, Y. Sohn, and B. Zergott. <br />Also Present: Clerk of Commissions Oring. <br />II. REVIE,W AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />B. Zergott moved to accept the minutes of October 17, 1990, seconded by T. <br />Gallagher, and unanimously approved. <br />III. SIGNS: <br />With building plans. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Building Commissioner Conway ha.d sent revised plans for Valvbline Instant Oil <br />Change, 24866 Lorain Rd. -to Mr. Zergott-to review a change in the approved <br />landscaping. He had required that they add another stairway to conform to <br />code, which required them to cfiange the landscaping. Mr. Zergott believed <br />that the proposed landscaping was too low, and suggested that they plant 9 <br />arborvitae wrapped around the stairwell and to include more evergreen <br />material. Members. had no problem with the revision. T. Gallagher moved to <br />approve the revised plans as presented with the stipulation that the 9 <br />arborvitae be added, seconded by M. Case, and imanimously approved. . <br />V. NEnT BUSINESS: <br />1) Bretton Ridge Veterinary Hospital, 29293 Lorain Road. . <br />Proposal to construct addition to rear of the building. <br />Referred by Planning Commission November 13, 1990. <br />Mr. Eberling, contractor,, presented color rendering of building and explained <br />that the addition will be a synthetic exterior plaster system in a'sand <br />finish similar to the sandlewood beige which will match the existing side <br />walls as closely as possible, the front of the buildirig is brick. He <br />presented a sample of the wall system with 12 inch styrofoam and explained <br />that this would, in itself, be more sound deadening than the existing block <br />walls, but they have agreed to do whatever the Building Connissioner <br />recommends to deaden the sound of the dogs; they will also be insulating and <br />dry wall the ceilings and the wall between the addition and the existing <br />building. He explained that the Planning Commission had-recommended that they <br />install a board on board fence on the property line adjacent to the residence, <br />however, that neighbor.tielieves that a board on board fence will close in his <br />yard too much. He stated that the fence would be treated wood, but not <br />stained and would start at the rear of the existing building and go to the <br />1
