CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />. ' BOARD OF BUILDING CODE APPEALS <br />MINUTES-FEBRUARY 22, 1990 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Burk calTed the meeting to order at 7:50 p.m. <br />Present: J. Kazak, J. Konold, D. Spoerke, and R. Burk <br />Absent: B. Schulz <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />P1r. Kazak read the minutes of October 26, 1989. J. Konold moved to approve <br />the minutes of October 26, 1989 as presented, seconded b_y D. Spoerke, and <br />unanimously approved. <br />The review of the minutes of June 14th had previously been deferr.ed until <br />all members were present. It was decided that these would be reviewed at <br />the end of the meeting. <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />No items. <br />IV. HEARINGS: <br />1) Joseph Beaun, 23013 MacBeth <br />The Buildino Commissioner is referring to the Board of Building Code <br />Appeals his order to repair the above referenced structure. <br />The following people were present for this hearing: D. McKay, Councilman <br />and D. Copeland, Director of Human Resourses; and residents,-Mr. and Mrs. <br />Krejci, Mrs. J. P4ills, Mr. Chereson; and Mr. and Mrs. Rice (who were <br />actually present _for the next hearing); Mr. Jbseph Reaune and his brother <br />and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beaune. Chairman Burk administered <br />the oath to all of-the above. Building Commissioner-Conway advised that <br />the Buildinp, Department was called out to 14r. Beaune's house by the Fire <br />Department and upon making.an inspection of the structure discovered 14 <br />violations of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted. <br />Mr. J. Beaune was ordered-to repair the structure and_acknowledged re- _ <br />ceipt of this order on November-28, 1989. -He has__no.t appealsd the order,.. <br />made any repairs-to the structure,-nor-has he applied for any permits to <br />complete the repairs. A letter by a sanitarian of the Board of Health <br />had also been submitted outlining,his findings. Considering bo.th reports <br />it was then determined that this is an unsafe structure._:and.Mr..J. Beaune <br />was given 60 days to comnlete the repairs. Since no repairs have been <br />made, this issue has been referred to this Board fo.r their recommendations <br />to Council as to whether the structure.should-be demolished, vacated, or <br />repaired. Mr. Gonway presented pictures showing various violations: <br />bearing wall was removed; rear door was nailed shut; header was installed <br />improperly; plaster was removed from interior walls; kitchen sink, counter <br />tops were removed; sanitary-facilities were removed; and the house has <br />no electrical or gas service and it is believed that the water had been <br />shut off. rir.
