r <br />CITY OF NORTH OLAISTED <br />BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />MINUTES-APRIT 4, 1990 <br />Chairman Bugala called the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m. <br />Present: B. Grace, J. Helon, T. Restifo, and R. Bugala <br />Absent: R. Gomersall <br />Also Present: Law Director Gareau, Building Commissioner Conway, substitute <br />Clerk of Cqmmissions Wingenfeld (observing) and Clerk of <br />Commissions Oring.?* <br />B.. Grace moved to approve the minutes of March 7, 1990 as presented, <br />seconded by J. Helon, and unanimously approyed. <br />1. Alex and Anna Muzie, 29780 Broxbourne Road <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 368 square foot variance for garage <br />area (existing attached garage was to be converted to living area). Violation <br />of Ord. 87-93, Section 1135.02(c)l. <br />Chairman Bugala called all interested parties before the Board. - The oath was <br />administered to Mr, and Mrs. Muzie and their daughter, Mrs. Koris. Building <br />Commissioner.Conway explained that a permit to build the detached garage was <br />issued based on the condition that the attached garage would be converted to <br />living area. This has been.done partially, but could not be considered a <br />habitable room. Mrs. Koris explained that her mother had a heart condition <br />and could not walk back to the detached garage. Mr. Muzie stated that if he <br />gets the variance the carpeting and furniture would be removed and the area <br />would be used only as a garage. Mr. Bugala noted that a shed on the property <br />had been removed and advised Mr. Muzie that the Board would not be willing <br />to approve a variance for another shed if he gets this variance. B. Grace <br />moved to grant the request of Alex and Anna Muzie, 29780 Broxbourne Road, <br />for a 368 square foot variance for garage area for the existing attached <br />garage, seconded by T. Restifo, and unanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />2. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Callus, 5510 Revere Drive <br />Request for variance (1123.12)e Request 8 foot rear yard variance to construct <br />two additions. Violation of Ord. 87-93, Section 1135.08(a). <br />Chairman Bugala called all interested parties before thLt Board. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. and Mrs. Callus, Mr. Orr, the contractor, and Mr. McFarland, <br />a neighbor, who pointed out that there was only school property behind them. <br />A note had been received from Mr. Potter, another neighbor, stating that they <br />had no objection to the variance. Mrs. Callus explained that her mother <br />would be coming to live with them so they needed the extra room. B. Grace <br />moved to grant the request of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Callus, 5510 Revere Drive, for <br />an 8 foot rear yard variance to construct two additions, seconded by J. Helon, <br />and unanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />3. Metro Lexus, 28450 Lorain Road <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request variance to display automobiles in <br />front set back.
