(Re-hearing of request originally heard on
April 4, 1990).
Chairman Bugala called all interested parties before the Board. Mr. Bugala
explained that this proposal was originally denied on April 4, 1990 and the
Board had consented to rehear it at this meeting because their representative
had not been present at the first hearing. R. Bugala moved to re-open the
request for Transohio Savings`, seconded by B. Grace and unanimously approved.
The oath was administered to Mr.'Leech, sign contractor, explained that the sign
was not placed in the wrong place on purpose. This was a complete change over
for all the Transohio Banks and the original plot plans was hastily done and did
not show in detail the island where the sign was to be installed. The
installers had centered it on this island, instead of placing it 4 feet from the
sidewalk. If they had placed it in the conforming location the pole would have
been adjacent to the parking lot line, and they are concerned that the pole
could be hit by cars. He pointed out that the sign was not hanging over the
sidewalk. Mr. Grace suggested that this sign be approved, but with the
stipulation that Brilliant Electric signs cannot provide a site plan without the
appropriate diriensions. Mr. Bugala agreed, but stated he did not like the way
this was handled by the contractor. R.
