OLD BUSINESS:
Continuing Study of the North Olmsted Master Plan, Focus Area C-1 & C-2
Mr. Schulz, County Planning Commission, presented revised information and
explained that mst of the discussion would center on the Crocker Stearns
extension and the widening of the existing Stearns Road. However prior to that
Mr. Tressler would present a few issues regarding pedestrian access in focus area
A-1,2 and a small portion of B. Mr. Tressler presented two ma.ps (Pedestrian
Accessibility Focus Area A-1 and A-2, map 4, dated June 1992), which showed
existing traffic signals, crosswalks and sidewalks, as well as those recommended
for the area east of Great Northern Ma.ll. He pointed out that the bike path ends
across the street from the ma.ll where there are no sidewalks, crosswalks or
pedestrian activated traffic signals. He explained that sidewalks, crosswalks and
crosswalk timers are planned as part of the widening of Great Northern Boulevard.
Several pedestrian links are need in the area, especially between the Radisson
Inn and Chester's Restaurant. No map was presented for accessibility in focus
area B, but he mentioned a few. He maintained that the curb cut newly constructed
to Brookpark Road in the shopping center across from the recreation center has
actually cxeated a new street and pedestrian access should be clearly defined
- ? 1
