ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Gorris called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. <br />Present: L. Orlowski, A. Skoulis, R. Tallon, and B. Gorris. <br />J. Thomas arrived after roll call. <br />Absent: R. Bowen. <br />Also Present: Councilman Lind, Assistant Law Director Dubelko, City Engineer <br />Deichmann, Building Comissioner Conway, and Clerk of Conunissions <br />Oring. <br />II. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Continuing Study of the North Olmsted Master Plan, Focus Area C-1 & C-2 <br />Mr. Schulz, County Planning Commission, presented revised information and <br />explained that mst of the discussion would center on the Crocker Stearns <br />extension and the widening of the existing Stearns Road. However prior to that <br />Mr. Tressler would present a few issues regarding pedestrian access in focus area <br />A-1,2 and a small portion of B. Mr. Tressler presented two ma.ps (Pedestrian <br />Accessibility Focus Area A-1 and A-2, map 4, dated June 1992), which showed <br />existing traffic signals, crosswalks and sidewalks, as well as those recommended <br />for the area east of Great Northern Ma.ll. He pointed out that the bike path ends <br />across the street from the ma.ll where there are no sidewalks, crosswalks or <br />pedestrian activated traffic signals. He explained that sidewalks, crosswalks and <br />crosswalk timers are planned as part of the widening of Great Northern Boulevard. <br />Several pedestrian links are need in the area, especially between the Radisson <br />Inn and Chester's Restaurant. No map was presented for accessibility in focus <br />area B, but he mentioned a few. He maintained that the curb cut newly constructed <br />to Brookpark Road in the shopping center across from the recreation center has <br />actually cxeated a new street and pedestrian access should be clearly defined <br />- ? 1
