OLD BLTSINESS: (Heaxd at this point).
Discussion of modifications to the 1989 C.A.B.O. One and 'I?ao Family Dwelling
Code. Previous modifications approved June 14; 1989.
Building Commissioner Conway reminded the Board that about 2 years ago he had
asked that the Board adopt the 1989 C.A.B.O. One and Tao Family Dwelling Code
along with some suggested modifications specifically for the North Olmsted code.
Shortly after that, the State of Ohio indicated tha.t they were going to force all
municipalities to adopt this code as a imiform building code, im-amended, for
one, two, and 3 family dwellings throughout the State. Such a bill was introduced
in February 1991; but no action ha.s been taken-on it in the last year. Since
there would appear to be a fair amount of building coming up in this category in
the next year, he does not want to be working with a 1983 code. After the 1989
code was submitted some 1990 and 1991 amendments were proposed. He would like to
have a public meeting an this in April, and suggested that the Board meet in
March to discuss their thoughts and concepts of the code. Some of the previous
suggestions will be modified and mailed to the members at a later date. He
presented the 1990 and 1991 amendments and explained that some are in conflict
with the North Olmsted Zoning Code. He would like the public meeting held in
Apri1 and is proposing that the developers of two large project be invited.
N. HEARINGS:
James A. Hearing required by
Ord. 2806 (any house being built on a lot with a 50 foot front width or less
requires the approval of the Board of Building?Code Appeals.)
Board of Building Code Appeals granted permission on September 26, 1991 for a
different proposal.
Board of Zoning Appeals denied variance on October 2, 1991.
Variance will be required fron the Boaxd of Zoning Appeals for the above request.
