ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Zergott called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. <br />Present: S. Ferencik, Y. Sohn, and B. Zergott. <br />T. Gallagher arrived later. <br />Also present: Building Commissioner Conway and Clerk of Commissions Oring. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />B. Zergott moved to accept the minutes of December 16, 1992 as presented, <br />seconded by Y. Sohn, and unanimously approved. <br />III. SIGNS: <br />Heard with building plans. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />1) Rally's Restaurant, 27208 Lorain Road. <br />Proposal to construct drive-thru only food service outlet. <br />Heard by Planning Commission meeting of October 13, 1992. <br />Variance granted by Board of Zoning Appeals November 5, 1992. <br />Continued from the Architectural Review Board December 16, 1992. <br />No representative present. Heard at end of meeting. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />1) Spermuli Marathon, 28700 Lorain Road. <br />Proposal to construct canopy over punp island. <br />Heard by Board of Zoning Appeals December 2, 1992. <br />Referred by Planning Conunission January 12, 1993. <br />Mr. Spermu_li presented landscaping plans for both the Marathon sign and the <br />Goodyear sign and explained that he planned to use some type of evergreens. A <br />portion of the black top must be removed in order to install the landscaping. <br />Mr. Zergott suggested raising and mulching the beds and planting taxus sebian <br />(evergreen) and flowers around both sides of the Goodyear sign and in the front <br />of the Ma.rathon sign since the guardrail behind is would prohibit planting in <br />the back. The canopy will be the same as the one at Lorain and Butternut Ridge <br />Roads. Building Commissioner Conway advised that a variance would be needed from <br />the Board of Zoning Appeals if they intend to put a sign on the canopy. He <br />clarified that there would be no probiem having the colors on it, but signs are <br />not allowed on canopies. B. Zergott moved to approve the plans to construct a <br />canopy over the pump island for Spermuli Marathon, 28700 Lorain Road, as <br />presented with the suggestions that were made for the landscaping and the <br />stipulation that the landscaping be installed by May 15th, seconded by S. <br />Ferencik, and Unanimously approved. <br />r <br />2) Oldsmobile of North Olmsted (forrierly Halleen Truck Lot), 27871 Lorain Road. <br />Proposal to renovate exterior of building and add exterior lighting. <br />Referred by Planning Commission January 12, 1993. <br />1
