BUILDING DEPAR'Il?'?NT REQUESTS:
1) Rollo Pollo Restaurant, 25730 Lorain Road.
Proposal to renovate the Italian Oven Restaurant and reactivate tYie original
drive-thru window.
Tabled at meeting of November 9, 1993. Mr. Pusti, architect, explained revised plans and noted that a letter attached
to the plans answered a number of questions that were raised at the previous
meeting. The revised plans now show the handicapped garking immediately adjacent
to the front of the building and the drive-thru lane has been relocated behind
them. Some landscaping had to be removed, and will be redistributed to the front
of the handicapped spaces and to the rear behind the new spaces, and an existing
tree is now noted on the plan. Mr. Orlowski complemented the architect on the
revised plan. In response to Mr. Orlowski's questions, Mr. Pusti clarified that
the drive-thru drive was 18 feet wide at the point from the planter to the front
landscapecl island and 31 feet at the front of the building. The total
sign area will still be less than what is permitted by code. The letters have
been reduced by about 1 foot. Building Commissioner Conway advised that the they
will need a variance to have two signs on the building and also a 4 or 5 inch
variance for the overall height of the front sign. Mr. Pusti offered to reduce
the height of the letters so that they will conform. A1r. Skoulis is concerned
about the aesthetics of the sign. Mr. Pusti noted that the burgundy neon will not
be as bright as Tony Roma's red neon. Mr. Conway advised that the Architectural
Review Board would have to review tYie sign.
