CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING COMIVIISSION <br />MIN[JTES - APRIL 8, 1997 <br />1. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairmau Tallon called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. <br />Present: D. Cameron Alston, T. Brennan, T. Herbster, R. Koeth, A. Manving, K. O'Rourke, and <br />R. Tallon. <br />Also Present: Assistant Law Director Dubelko, City Engineer Deicbmaun, Assistant Building <br />Commissioner Rymarczyk. <br />R. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MII-?UTES: <br />R. Tallon moved to adopt the minutes of March 25, 1997, seconded by K O'Rourke. Roll call on <br />motion: R. Tallon, K. O'Rourke, T. Brennan, T. Herbster, and A. Manning. Mrs. Cameron Alston and <br />R. Koeth abstained. Motion carried. <br />Chairman Tallon advised that the agenda would be rearranged so that item N. would be heard next. <br />N. NEW DEVELOPMENTS AND SUBDNISIONS: (Heard at this point). <br />1) Downing Company Consolidation Plat (La-Z-Boy Furniture). <br />The proposal is to combine permauent parcel numbers 231-33-016(formerly Long John Silver site) and <br />231-31-026 (formerly BP Car Wash site) into one (1) parcel (site of approved La-Z-Boy Furniture). <br />Location is the northeast comer of Lorain and Root Roads. Zoning is Retail Business, General, entirely <br />and the proposal conforms to frontage and area requirements. <br />Tliere was no representative present, if no one comes in duriug the meeting, the request would be <br />continued until the next meeting. <br />2) Duke Realty Investments Lot Split and Assembly Plat (Radisson Hotel). <br />The proposal is to split and assemble (re-align the property lines) permanent parcel nos. 236-14-3 and <br />236-14-5 to accommodate the Radisson. Hotel addition. Location is the northeast corner area of Grreat <br />Northern and Country Club Boulevards. Zoning is Mixed Use District entirely. <br />There was no representative present, if no one comes in during the meeting, the request would be <br />continued until the next meeting. <br />III. BUII.,DING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: (Heard at this point).. <br />1) Forest City Auto Parts, 23789 Lorain Road. <br />Proposal to expand building. <br />Heard by architectural review board March 1997; Heard by board of zoning appeals Apri12, 1997. <br />Mr. Dotson, architect, presented plans and explained that several items discussed at planning <br />commission previously have been included in these plans. The signage has been reduced to what is <br />allowed on the front of the building, the "max" logo has been removed. There will be solid brick above <br />the windows and they are going to stain all the brick so there is a consistent appearance throughout the <br />building. The original structural "T"s will be covered with an aluminum fascia, painted a matte black <br />finish. -Also there will be lighting in every lOth "T" to illu.minate the sidewalk area; exterior lights to
