OLD BUSINESS: (To be heard at the end of the meetiug).
Review of sign presentation which Mr. Yager will be giving to the zoving code review committee.
V. NEW BUSINESS:
1) Great Northern Dodge, Project number 2, located at 26100 Lorain Road.
Proposal to construct new building and revision to site plan and drainage.
Properties should be combined.
Referred by plauuiug commission Juue 19, 1996.
Mr. Shartman, owner, and Mr. Burke, engineer, presented plans. It was explained that this meeting
would deal mainly with landscaping and the fence, the drainage plans would be reviewed by the
Engineering Department. The neighbors had wanted a board ou board fence which Mr. Shartman
believed could be a problem siuce inany of the neighbors' trees might have to be reinoved to install it.
Two neighbors, Mr. Limpert and Mr. Gabriel, were present. Mr. Shartman advised that they were going
to survey again to make sure where the property line is, since he is not even sure if the existing chain
link fence is on his property or theirs. W. Burke stated that they are going to re-shoot the line, because
the chain link fence appears to be on the hoine owners' property. He thought it would probably be a
case of triiuming the trees, rather than cutting them down. Mr. Shartman stated that the neighbors were
blaming him for all the water problems, but it was really not lus fault. He explaiued that the city put in a
big hill on the recreation center property and all the water drains down from it onto his properly. Also,
the creek cannot contain all the water, and he does uot believe that it is up to lum to take care of the
creek. The members advised that tlus problem was up to the Engineering Department, that tlus board
cannot help him with tlus since they are mauily interested in aesthetics. N1r. Shartman has no problem
installing the landscaping that was asked for and advised that they might eveu inound it somewhat. Mr.
Burke explained that Engineering had asked them to raise the parking lot slightly to contain the water
so they can have a mound about two feet. Mr. Zergott stated that if they mouud around the existuig
trees, it could kill them N1r. Burke believed that they could mouud a little bit. It was clarified that the
board on board fence was to extend from the addition to the back at wluch poiut the landscaping will
start and that additioual 4 to 5 foot pines will be added to the existing trees. 1Vr. Yager also mentioned
,. that there was a light pole on the grouud and a gutter that is damaged. Mr. Shartman stated that tlus will
t
,
\
,`
