CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS MINUTES -.JUNE 40 1986 Chairman Remmel called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Present: R. Bugala, R. Gomersall, E. Graves,' J. Helon, and C. Remmel. Also Present: Law Director M. Gareau, Building Commissioner S. Spino, and Recording Secretary B. Oring 1. Robert & Carolyn Kasler, 3946 Shelley Dr. Request for variance (1133.13). Request 1' height variance for fence. Violation of Ord. 62-33r Section 1151.04 (H). No representative present, request heard at end of ineeting. 2. J. H. & M. C. Childs, 5988 Columbia Rd, Request for variance (1133.13). Request variance for a 6' solid fence in front set back. (30" allowed, must be 50% open). Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1151,04 H, The oath was administered to Mr. McKeeman and Mr. Crabs, neighbors.and Mr. Childs who explained.that_his property fronts on the relocated Columbia Road; and that the surface of the heavily traveled road is such that each car (many of them speeders) makes a whining noise and the faster they are traveling the higher the pitch. He.also needs.the fence as a barrier to protect his trees from the damage of the salt spray. The city forester had suggested he put up a snow fence' each winter with plastic or burlap over it. Mr. Childs would prefer a better looking, permanent fence. Mr. Remmel stated that the State could possibly be installing a noise barrier and would like to know what plans they might fiave. Mr. Childs presented tendering of the type fence to be installed and explained that a 6' fence was necessary to protect his trees. E. Graves moved to grant a variance for a 6` solid fence at 5988 Columbia Rd., seconded by C. Remmel. Roll call on motion: Graves, Remmel, Bugala, Gomersall, and Helon, No. Motion failed to pass. Variance denied. Mr. Childs was advised to contact the State or his council person regarding plans for a noise barrier. 3. Norman,F. Tober, 4539 Dover Center Rd. Request for variance (.1133.13). Request variance for location of conforming size tool shed. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1151.04-D. Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was administered to Mr, Tober, This is a very deep lot and shed conforms to size ordinance. R. Bugala moved to grant the variance requested by Norman F. Tober of 4539 Dover Center'Rd., seconded by E. Graves, and unanimousl_y approved. Variance granted. 4. John Stribrick, 6767 Louann Dr. Request for variance (1133e13). Request 22' rear yard variance for patio en- closure. Violation of Ord, 62-33, Section 1163.01. Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was
