CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />MINUTES -.JUNE 40 1986 <br />Chairman Remmel called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />Present: R. Bugala, R. Gomersall, E. Graves,' J. Helon, and C. Remmel. <br />Also Present: Law Director M. Gareau, Building Commissioner S. Spino, and <br />Recording Secretary B. Oring <br />1. Robert & Carolyn Kasler, 3946 Shelley Dr. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 1' height variance for fence. <br />Violation of Ord. 62-33r Section 1151.04 (H). <br />No representative present, request heard at end of ineeting. <br />2. J. H. & M. C. Childs, 5988 Columbia Rd, <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request variance for a 6' solid fence in <br />front set back. (30" allowed, must be 50% open). Violation of Ord. 62-33, <br />Section 1151,04 H, <br />The oath was administered to Mr. McKeeman and Mr. Crabs, neighbors.and Mr. <br />Childs who explained.that_his property fronts on the relocated Columbia Road; <br />and that the surface of the heavily traveled road is such that each car (many <br />of them speeders) makes a whining noise and the faster they are traveling <br />the higher the pitch. He.also needs.the fence as a barrier to protect his <br />trees from the damage of the salt spray. The city forester had suggested he <br />put up a snow fence' each winter with plastic or burlap over it. Mr. Childs <br />would prefer a better looking, permanent fence. Mr. Remmel stated that the <br />State could possibly be installing a noise barrier and would like to know <br />what plans they might fiave. Mr. Childs presented tendering of the type fence <br />to be installed and explained that a 6' fence was necessary to protect his <br />trees. E. Graves moved to grant a variance for a 6` solid fence at 5988 <br />Columbia Rd., seconded by C. Remmel. Roll call on motion: Graves, Remmel, <br />Bugala, Gomersall, and Helon, No. Motion failed to pass. Variance denied. <br />Mr. Childs was advised to contact the State or his council person regarding <br />plans for a noise barrier. <br />3. Norman,F. Tober, 4539 Dover Center Rd. <br />Request for variance (.1133.13). Request variance for location of conforming <br />size tool shed. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1151.04-D. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to Mr, Tober, This is a very deep lot and shed conforms to size <br />ordinance. R. Bugala moved to grant the variance requested by Norman F. Tober <br />of 4539 Dover Center'Rd., seconded by E. Graves, and unanimousl_y approved. <br />Variance granted. <br />4. John Stribrick, 6767 Louann Dr. <br />Request for variance (1133e13). Request 22' rear yard variance for patio en- <br />closure. Violation of Ord, 62-33, Section 1163.01. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was
