ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. <br />Present: R. Bierman, T. Morgan, E. Traczyk, J. Wixted, J. Brown, and J. Burns <br />Absent: B. Gorris <br />Also Presente Assistant Law Director Dubelko, City Engineer J. Schaller, <br />and Recording Secretary B. Oring. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />The Minutes of June 10, 1986 were deferred until the next regular meeting. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />1) Rini's Supermarket, 23000 Lorain Rd. <br />Proposal to add freezer to rear of building. <br />Mr. Draeger, architect, presented plans for freezer to be installed at <br />rear of store. .. Freezer will be enclosed in bYick on two sides 4vyith a mqtal <br />roof (brick will be the same as that on the cooler which was approved <br />previously); there will be no exterior entrance. Commission questioned <br />if freezer would cause problems with access around building.and if i't <br />would increase square footage of the building since the parking has been <br />a problem there. Mr. Draeger explained that the propane tanks shown on <br />the site plan have been removed and there should be no problem with ac- <br />cess around tfie building and also that the area where old freezer is <br />located will be used to store produce. Mr. Draeger explained to Mr. <br />Herman, an adjacent neighbor, that, to the best of his knowledge, no new <br />compressor will be added which would increase the noise level. T. Morgan <br />moved that the Rini's proposal to add a freezer to the rear of the build- <br />ing at 23000 Lorain Road be approved as submitted on the plans presented <br />this evening with the stipulation that the building material will match <br />the existing store and the cooler that has been previously approved by <br />the Elanning Commission and the Architectural Board of Review, seconded <br />by E. Traczyk, and unanimously approved. <br />2) Carter Plaza, 24749 Lorain Rd. <br />Proposal to construct 2 retail buildings(one to be immediately adjacent <br />to existing building at 24749 Lorain Road). <br />Mr. Draeger presented plans for shopping plaza consisting of two new <br />buildingst one of which will be directly adjacent to the former Stearns <br />Poo1 building and will be remodeled to match the new buildings. Mr. <br />Draeger clarified that two existing building will be removed and this <br />plaza will encompass three lots and assembly of the property will be pre- <br />sented later.
