ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. <br />Present: R. Bierman, B. Gorris, T. Morgan, E. Traczyk, J. Brown and <br />J. Burns <br />Absent: J. Wixted <br />Also Present: Assistant Law Director J. Dubelko, City Engineer J. Schaller <br />Building Commissioner S. Spino, Councilmen J. Wilamosky and <br />R. Tallon,and B. Oring, Clerk of Commissions <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />Th.c? minutes of November 25th were amended on page 2, item 3, 8th. line from <br />the bottom and should read "....The Commission considered a second curb cut..." <br />T. Morgan moved to approve the Planning Commission minutes of November 25, 1986 <br />as amended, seconded by J. Brown, and unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />1) Romp's Dairy Queen Brazier, 24579 Lorain Rd. <br />Proposal to construct atrium on front and drive through facility on <br />side of existing building. Variances granted for front set b ack by <br />Board of Zoning Appeals on November 1, 1967 and on October 1, 1986). <br />(Heard by the Architectural Board of Review-on November 19, 1986). <br />Chairman Burns advised that the Architectural Board had anproved the <br />design for the new addition as submitted. Fire and Police Departments <br />had no objection to plans. Mr. Romp, the owner, and Mr. Kordy, the. <br />arehitect pres'ented three different site plans : A-1 which is basically <br />what is existing and has 229 parking spaces; S-1 which has 227 parking <br />spaces; and S-2 which has 223 parking spaces. One hundred and ninety- <br />four parking spaces are required. Stop sign will.be installed where <br />drive through traffic enters parking lot access drive. No handicapped <br />spaces are shown on plan and the developers were advised that 1 handi- <br />capped space was required for every 25.snaces. Commission studied the <br />three plans and decided on A='1. T. Morgan moved that the Dairy Queen <br />proposal to construct the atrium on the front and thP drive through <br />facility on the side of the existing b uilding as approved by the <br />Architectural Board of Review and with the variance granted by the <br />Board of Zoning Appeals and the existing parking as shown this evening <br />on drawing A-1 be approved, seconded by R. Bierman, and unanimously <br />approved. <br />2) Suburban Glass and Tire, Inc, 23672 Lorain Rd. <br />Proposal to refurbish exterior of b uilding. (Special permit granted <br />by Board of Zoning Appeals on December 3, 1986). <br />Mr. Purper, Jr. explained that they plan to install cedar siding on the
