r <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />MINUTES - MARCH 6, 1985 <br />Vice Chairman Graves called the meeting to order at 7:30 p:m. <br />Present: R. Bugala, R. Gomersall, E. Graves, and J. Helon <br />Absent: C. Renunel <br />Also Present: Law Director M. Gareau, Building Commissioner E. Gundy, <br />and Recording Secretary B. Oring. <br />1. North Olmsted United Methodist Church, 4600 Dover Center Rd. <br />Request for special permit to construct addition to church located in a <br />residential district. Special permission required by Ord. 62-33, <br />Section 1151.01-E. <br />Vice Chairman Graves called all interested parties before the Board. The <br />oath was administered to Mr. T. Moore, Architect, and to neighbors, Mrs. Truskawetzki and Mrs. Mertus. Mr. Moore explained that they are request- <br />ing an extension of the special permit to add a 2,700 sq. ft. addition to ; <br />expand class rooms, offices?,nursery and lavatories. Proposal was explained <br />to neighbors who had no. objection to addition but were concerned that it <br />would be used for functions not connected with the church. They complained ; <br />about the traffic generated by the Alcoholics Anonymous meetings (this would ! <br />be a permitted use) and about snow plowing at 4 a.m. They were advised <br />to contact the minister regarding these problems. R. Bugala moved to pro- <br />vide the special permit to construct an addition to the North Olmsted United <br />Methodist Church located in a residential district9 seconded by R. Gomersall, ? <br />and unanimously approved. Special permit granted <br />2. George A. Lahl, 23045 Clifford Rd. <br />Request special permit to lift non-conforming house (side yard) and <br />install new structural supports. Special permission required by Ord. <br />62-33, Section 1231.02. <br />Vice Chairman Graves called all interested parties before the Board. The <br />oath was administered to Mr. and Mrs. Lahl who explained proposal to raise <br />house to install supports in order to alter the interior of the house and <br />enlarge basement. Board questioned if garage on property had received a <br />variance. Building Department will look into this. E. Graves moved to. <br />grant the special permit to lift non-conforming house and install new struc- <br />tural supports, seconded by R. Bugala, and unanimously approved. Special <br />permit granted. <br />3. First Federal Savings and Loan of Lakewood, 26614 Lorain Rd. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 47 sq. ft. variance for total <br />sign area for existing pole sign. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section <br />1221.06-D. Also request location variance (not 3' from sidewalk). Vio- <br />lation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1221.06-F4. <br />Vice Chairman Graves called all interested parties before the Board. The
