ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Morgan called .the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />Present: J. Burns, B. Gorris, E. Traczyk, J. Wixted, J. Brown, and <br />T. Morgan <br />Absent: J. Roberts <br />Also Present: Assistant Law Director J. Dubelko, Building Commissioner <br />E. Gundy, Assistant City Engineer D. McDermott, Council- <br />man R. Tallon, and Recording Secretary B. Oring. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />J. Wixted moved to approve _the.Minutes of ,Iune 12_, _1984 as presented-, <br />seconded by'E. Traczyk, and unanimously approved. - <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />1. Church of St. Clarence, 30337 Lorain Rd. <br />Proposal to construct Phase 2. (Phase 1 approved by Planning Com- <br />mission on September 22, 1981 - Preliminary plans and parking lot <br />approved b.y Planning Commission October 28, 1980.) <br />Mr. Morgan stated that. notice to Sherna Construction was sent to <br />North Olmsted Junior High-School in error. This had previously been <br />corrected. Mr. Thomsik, Architect, presented the plans for Phase 2, <br />a new addition to the.present all purpos'e room. Commission reviewed <br />original site plan. Building Commissioner Gundy explained that the <br />two story addition will have 5,000 sq. ft:-on each floor (the existing <br />building has 11,000 sq. ft. Mr. Thomsik explained that this multi- <br />purpose building will be used for various parish functions and the <br />interior will be divided with folding doors. 'New building will be <br />placed 5' below grade so that the upper level will be on a plane with <br />mezzanine of existing building. Addition will be 5' back from present <br />sidewalk on parking lot. Mr. Thomsik stated that building will be <br />finished in brick when church is constructed. Retention was designed <br />for entire project originally. Mr. Gundy stated that existing parking <br />conforms to code and is adequate-for churches, however, therecould <br />be a problem with the bingo nights. J. Burns moved to forward the <br />proposed addition to St. Clarence Church to the Architectural Board <br />of Review, seconded by J. Brown, and unanimously approved. <br />2. Eye Works, Inc.. and Tony Valore Builders, 26127 Lorain Rd. <br />Proposal to convert existing office building into eye care center <br />and builders offices. <br />(Heard by the Architectural Board of Review June 20, 1984).
