Dubelko, Assistant City Engineer D. McDermott, Council-
man D. Woerpel, and Recording Secretary B. Oring
II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES:
J. Burns moved to approve the Minutes of July 12, 1983 as submitted,
seconded by J. Roberts, and unanimously approved.
III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS:
(1) Great Northern Corporate Center, located at the northeast corner
of Country Club Blvd. and Great Northern Blvd.
Revised concept plans referred from Council and continued from
Planning Commission on June 28, 1983.
Proposal had been continued for a legal opinion as to whether a
hotel is a permitted use in the Mixed Use District. Assistant
Law Director Dubelko advised that a hotel was not specifically
permitted in the Mixed Use Section; it could not be considered as
a multiple dwelling or a Class A, residential high rise, or a
Class B high rise business office, all of which would be permitted.
Under Section 1202.04, Park Administrative and Professional
Planning Commission could, if they so desire, consider the hotel
as an accessory use to the office complex under the criteria stated
in that section: 1) it is in keeping with the foregoing uses,
2) it is not injurious, obno, xious or offensive by reason of e-
mission of odors, dust, smoke, gas ftnnes, vibrations or noise,
and 3) it is an associated and accessory use to the foregoing
uses. Mr. Richland, of Great Northern Partnership, advised
that this will be a high rise hotel with approximately 400 to
500 room including conference rooms and no specific hotel chain
has been selected as yet. These are concept plans only for the
entire development. Final development plans and building plans
for specific phases must be approved subsequently. J. Burns
moved to approve the Great Northern Complex Concept plan in-
cluding the hotel which is an associated and accessory use to the
Corporate Center as provided under Section 1202.04, seconded by
J. Roberts, and unanimously approved.
IV. NEW DEVELOPMENTS AND SUBDIVISIONS:
