R' ' F
CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVEIW
MINUTES - DECEMBER 14, 1981
I. ROLL CALL:
Chairwoman Case called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.
Present: M. Case, S. Ebin, R. Mongello, and R. Parry
Also Present: Recording Secretary B. Oring
II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES:
Mr. Ebin corrected the Minutes of November 16, as follows:
Page 3, line 8, insert the word stated after Mr. Shumway;
also line 17 item one of motion, change to read "1) roof
top mechanical equipment screen be made of the same material
and design as the building facade rather than the rough sawn
cedar fence, also add to motion, 4) that the area around the
building should have 3/8" or 1/2" pea gravel rather than the
2" to 4" stones. R. Parry moved to approve the Minutes of
November 16, 1981 as ammended, seconded by S. Ebin, and unan-
imously approved.
III. SIGNS:
(a) Rube Adler Sporting Goods (Brook's Electric Signs),
25770 Lorain Rd.
Replacement faces in existing pole sign.
The Board agreed that they would like to see this sign re-
wired so that the wires would not be visible, but since this
is an existing sign and only the.faces are being replaced,
this would not be feasible at this time because it would_in-
volve tearing up the parking lot. S. Ebin moved to approve
the sign as presented, seconded by R. Parry, and unanimously
approved.
(b) Chuck E. Cheese Pole Sign (Brook's Electric Signs),
23333 Lorain Rd. Pole Sign (Variance granted 12/2/81).
It was noted that Chuck E. Cheese had leased the entire Esco
store but that they are only using about two thirds of it,
and that they may possibly lease the remainder to another
tennant. There would be no space on the pole sign for that
tennant, unless.another variance would be granted. R. Parry
moved to approve the sign facia with the notation that the
approval of the sign uses all the available signage on the
pole sign (50 sq. ft. plus the 20 sq. ft. granted as a vari-
ance) and with the condition that a- future store in the un- •
occupied bay will be limited to a facia sign only, seconded
by S. Ebin, and unanimously approved.
