. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING COMTffSSION <br />? MINUTES - MARCH 25, 1980 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Bugala called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />Present: B. Gorris, T. Morgan, R. Perla, J. Roberts, J. Brown, and <br />R. Bugala. <br />Absentm J. Prokasy Also Present: Building Commissioner E. Gimdy, Assistant City Engineer <br />D. McDermott, and Assistant Law Director D. Ryan and <br />Recording Secretary B. Oring <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />J. Brown moved to approve the minutes of March 11, 1980, as submi.tted, <br />seconded by B. Gorris, and unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />(a) Sions: <br />Building Commissioner Gundy presented the signs which were studied <br />and discussed in conjunction with the Architectural Board of Review <br />Minutes of March 17,. 1980. <br />Mr. Pohl of Giant Shoe Mart advised the Board that he was not in- <br />formed of a sign criteria when he signed-the lease at Olmsted Elaza. <br />His national ethblem is a yellow-gold background and blue letters. <br />Since the owner of the Plaza was not present and he had submitted the <br />sign criteria stating a white background, Chairman Bugala did not <br />feel that the Commission could approve the yellow-gold background <br />without the Developers being presente <br />Zip? z Ice Cream: the Commission has no jurisdiction over the flashing <br />lights inside the store. <br />Jan's Deli: A-Alert Signs has amended the request to install a 6" <br />pole instead of a 4°1 pole as orginally planned. The signI including <br />the over-hang does meet all codes. <br />B. Gorris moved to accept the Zip'z Ice Cream sign exclusive of <br />the conditions of the Architectural Board of Review and all other <br />signs with the conditions of the Architectural Board of Review, <br />seconded by T. Morgan, and imanimously approved. <br />(b) Herman's Sporting Goods, 26301 Great Northern Shopping Center <br />Mr. R. Bowser of Great Northern Shopping Center represented the <br />developer.
