Roberts called the meeting to order at 8:00 pmm. <br />Present: J. Roberts, R. Bugala, B. Gorris, J. Brown, W..Ohman <br />J. Prokasy arrived at 8:09 p.m. <br />Absent: D. Ryan <br />Also Present: Building Commi.ssioner E. Gundy, Law Director M. Gareau, <br />Assistant City Engineer D. McDermott,Recording Sec'y Oring. <br />Mayor Swietyniowski,arrived later. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OFJMINUTES: <br />Paragraph-under Communicatioris in the second sentence, after the <br />word "Mrm" name is omitted, Insert Roberts. Sentence should read <br />"After a brief discussion, Mr. Roberts moved;". J. Brown moved <br />to accept the minutes as corrected. Seconded by R. Bugala, and <br />unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS:. <br />Because oiie of the Romp.Brott?ers'_ representatives had been delayed <br />Mr. Bugala moved that the Commission take care of the New Developments <br />and Subdivisions before Building Department Requests. J. Brown <br />seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously. <br />IV. NEW DEVELOPMENTS AND SUBDIVISIOIJS: <br />P4r. McDermott, Assistant City Engineer, introduced Gertsma Sub- <br />division which was continued from.the November 28, 1978 meeting. This <br />proposal was to extend Gessner Rd. west to Root Rd. The Commission <br />had requested a statement from the Engineering Department for their <br />recommendations. Mr. Roberts read a letter from Mr. Ron Zurawski, <br />City Engineer, stating that the proposed Gessner Road extension was <br />preferred over the alternate plan of locating the intersection to the <br />north of the present Gessner Road intersection. The plans were <br />distributed and Mr. Gertsma, the developer, came before the board <br />and again-explained-his proposal. Mr.- Gertsma explained he was <br />planning to construct 56 homes at present and when the area was <br />fully developed to 126 homes he would then put in another outlet'_ <br />on Eo Columbia Rd. He also explained that he was only putting side- <br />walks on one side of Gessner, but he would put in sidewalks on the <br />other side if the Engineering Department requested it. Any interested <br />neighbors were asked for comments. Mr. James Pi. Reese abain expressed <br />his dissatisfaction with the proposal on the basis of the traffic <br />problems in the area. He concluded by stating if relocated 252 could <br />be constructed, as had been planned since 1962, it would alleviate
