PLANIVING COMMISSION O I. Ro1Z Ca11 June 10, 1975 Vice Chairman Tischler called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. Acting Secretary Elliott called the roll. Present: Vice Chairman Tischl.er, Messrs. Elliott, Freeh and Rafeld. A1so Fresent: M. Gareau, Law I}irector, E. Gundy,? Building Commissioner, D. NlcDermott, Assistant City Engineer, and V. Hodgins, Recording Secretary; and Councilmen Saringer, Uilamosky and Gogg3n. II. Review and Correction of Na.nutes 8:05 - Mrsa Eian is now present. Counci7man Saringer would 1i.ke May 27, 1975 minutes :tv reflect her presence in Item III (a) (2). Mr. E1liott moved to approve minutes as corrected. Nr. Freeh seconded and motion passed. ITI. Building Department (a) Old Requests (1) Simmons Apartment Building - Christman and Lorain Mr. and Mrs. Simmons came before the Commission. Mr. Gundy re- ferred to minutes of ineeting of May 27, 1975• Minutes reflect Engineering I?ept. had not had opportunity to review plans. Mr. McDermott said now he had loolced over the underground drainage. He found the plan is for assembly of two lots. Two parcels exist. Engineer McDermott distribu-ted subdivision plans for Christman Drive 5ubdivision. Vice Chairman Tischler conferred with I,aw Di- rector Gareau. It is within discretion of Planning Commission to act on resubdivision this evening. Ntr. Freeh moved the two lots be combined. Mr. Elli.ott seconded. Dave McIntyre of Bretton Ridge said he would like to challenge the combination - the lot along Christman is on Christman Dr. He also said esthetics,traf- fic and safey should be considered; the land adjacent to Lorain Rd. is commercial.; this appears to be residential and shou3.d be considered residential - should be zoned residential. Suggestion was made there should be access only to Christman Dro or all traf- fic would be released onto Christman Dr-, from the pro.o Pd apart- ments. Mr. Tischler explained the zoning; both parcels are pre- sently zoned retail business. Ro11 call on t,he motion: Messrso Tischler, Freeh, Elliott, Rafeld and Mrs. Eian all voted aye. Mo- tion for resubdivision passed. Mr. Tischler said we will now consider development of this parcel. Ns. Simmons had submitted landscape plan. Residents were invited to look at plans. Tom Ruffing asked about zoning along Lorain Rd. He was told by Iaw Director Gareau utilities could be picked up along Christman. N1r. Simmons said sanitary sewer line is across
