j
SPEC[AL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS
HELD AT THE CITY HALL NOVEMBER 15, 1960
The meeting was called to order at 7:45 P.M.
Members present: Edward Byers, William Greene, and Willard Klinite.
Members absent: Lloyd Morgan
Also present: -Ernest J. Gundy, Building Commissioner
The minutes of the regular meeting of the Board of Zoning Appeals of November 1,
1960, were read; and Mr. Gundy made a correction. The second appellant, Mrs. Kain,
is the owner of a"double" dwelling at 4832 Clague Road, North Olmsted, rather
than a"single61 dwelling as stated in the November 1 minutes.
The following appeals were heard:
1. Appellant: Wiiber Serio - 24702 Kennedy Ridqe Road
North Olmsted, Ohio
The appeliant requested permission to build a two-car, attached garage 3 feet
from the side lot line and 400 feet from the nearest building. The appellant's
neighbor, Mr. Hummell, sold the appellant 20 feet of land specifically for the
purpose of building the proposed garage. The appellant presented a letter from
Mr. Hummell stating that the construction of the garage was agreeabte with him.
it was moved by Mr. Greene and seconded by Mr. Byers that the variance be granted.
The motion was unanimously approved.
Mr. Klinite read a paper to the Board describing the composition, purpose, and
function of a.proposed Architectural Board of Review.
2. Appellant: Mrs. Kain - 4832 Clayue Road
North Olmsted, Ohio
This meeting was a public hearing regarding the appellant's request for per-
mission to build an outdoor private stairway on the rear of her dou6le dwelling
to the existing second floor.
No residents appeared in opposition.
It was stated by Mrs. Kain that Mr. Colebrick, adjacent property owner, has no
objection to the proposed stairway at this time.
The appellant explained to the Board that an inside stairway would considerably
spoil the exisfiing downstairs living room of the house. She requested that the
Board members look at the house. It was the opinion of the Board that the
proposed outside stairway would not be in keeping with tha neighborhood and may
present problems in fihe future if the house should ever change hands; Mowever,
it was agreed that fihe Board would look at the house before making a decision.
