MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED March 229 1960 Present: Anthony T. LaPonzas Ballard W. Vincent, Thomas J. Doran' Thomas Biadas, Richard Mongello and Joseph P. Kadylak . The meeting was called to order at 8:10 P.M. by Vice-Chairma,n Ba11ard Vincentm The minutes of the meeting of March Sth were read by Mr. Mongel,loa /?,__ Secretary. • :? ?? 10/r/AG- /?G/? G?? *Mr. Fred AbendrothNP, (esented a program and cost estimate for a study of the undeveloped laaLd between the Great Northern Shopping Center and Columbia Road9 presented zoned for light industry' including its relation to other parts of the city in accordance with land useg population, shopping facilities9 traffia' publia facilities and tax incomeo The estimated cost of this type of study would be $750,009 but a more detailed study could possibly go as high as $19000.00o Also discussed was the possibility of joining the Regional Planning Com- mission. Mr. Abendroth discussed 5ome of the benefits of joining. It was moved by Mr. Doran, seconded by Mr. Biadas' that North Olmsted should accept the Regional Planning Commission's study of the area. 1PYeas" Kadylak, Vincent' Doran9 LaPonza' Biadas and Mongello. A motion was made by Mr. Mongello' seconded by Mr. Vincent, that a letter be sent to Council regarding the fact that the Planning Commission recommends the Eppropriation of funds for a study of the Brookpark area. "Yeas" Doran, Vincent, Kadylak, LaPonza' Biadas and Mongello. A letter is to be submitted to Council recommending that the Planning Commission join the Regional Planning Commission and that Council carefully consider Regional Planning doing an unbiased survey of the proposed rezoning of the industria 1 area. Mr. Vincent asked for a,r?y proposed subdivisions to come before the Board. There were none. Mr. Mongello stated that the North Olmsted Planning Commission could get government funds equal to one-half the cost of any study made. He also stated he could look into it further. Alex Kanareff, City Engineer9 brought up three proposals for the North Olmsted Planning Commission to study: 1. That a standard form be drawn up by the Commissiom for all future subdivisions and that this form would have to be filled out by any developer requesting a preliminary approval of a subdivision. 2o The Engineer stated that he wished to ca11 the attention of the Planning Commission to the fact that the ordinances of the City do not require a standard material to be used in a driveway apron and he recommends the use of conarete in the driveway apron in all new subdivisions. #Mr. Fred Abendroth (Regional Planning Commission) .. 1 -
