MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> <br />March 229 1960 <br />Present: Anthony T. LaPonzas Ballard W. Vincent, Thomas J. Doran' <br />Thomas Biadas, Richard Mongello and Joseph P. G?? <br />*Mr. Fred AbendrothNP, (esented a program and cost estimate for a study of <br />the undeveloped laaLd between the Great Northern Shopping Center and <br />Columbia Road9 presented zoned for light industry' including its relation <br />to other parts of the city in accordance with land useg population, <br />shopping facilities9 traffia' publia facilities and tax incomeo The <br />estimated cost of this type of study would be $750,009 but a more detailed <br />study could possibly go as high as $19000.00o <br />Also discussed was the possibility of joining the Regional Planning Com- <br />mission. Mr. Abendroth discussed 5ome of the benefits of joining. <br />It was moved by Mr. Doran, seconded by Mr. Biadas' that North Olmsted <br />should accept the Regional Planning Commission's study of the area. <br />1PYeas" Kadylak, Vincent' Doran9 LaPonza' Biadas and Mongello. <br />A motion was made by Mr. Mongello' seconded by Mr. Vincent, that a letter <br />be sent to Council regarding the fact that the Planning Commission recommends <br />the Eppropriation of funds for a study of the Brookpark area. "Yeas" Doran, <br />Vincent, Kadylak, LaPonza' Biadas and Mongello. A letter is to be submitted <br />to Council recommending that the Planning Commission join the Regional <br />Planning Commission and that Council carefully consider Regional Planning <br />doing an unbiased survey of the proposed rezoning of the industria 1 area. <br />Mr. Vincent asked for a,r?y proposed subdivisions to come before the Board. <br />There were none. <br />Mr. Mongello stated that the North Olmsted Planning Commission could get <br />government funds equal to one-half the cost of any study made. He also <br />stated he could look into it further. <br />Alex Kanareff, City Engineer9 brought up three proposals for the North <br />Olmsted Planning Commission to study: <br />1. That a standard form be drawn up by the Commissiom for all <br />future subdivisions and that this form would have to be filled out by <br />any developer requesting a preliminary approval of a subdivision. <br />2o The Engineer stated that he wished to ca11 the attention of <br />the Planning Commission to the fact that the ordinances of the City do <br />not require a standard material to be used in a driveway apron and he <br />recommends the use of conarete in the driveway apron in all new subdivisions. <br />#Mr. Fred Abendroth (Regional Planning Commission) <br />.. 1 -
