<br />MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE PLANVING COMMISSIOPT
<br />CITY OF NORTH OLtqSTED - FEBRUARY 11. 1964
<br />The meeting was called ta order by Chairmaxi Mace at 8:05 P.M.
<br />Presenta Chairman Leelie B. Maca, Vice-Chairman Donald. T. Ford, Secretary Anthony T.
<br />LaPonza, and members Joseph P. gadylek, Ballard W. Vincent, James Prokasy
<br />and Jack Foltz.
<br />A1eo Present: RaZph Christman, Mayor; Ernest J. Gundy, Building Commissioner; Law Director,
<br />Bruce Kitehen; City Engineer, Eichard Labas; and Couricilmen Q'1Gei11, Weato Caater,
<br />Va.nZanndt, I,inpert, Hodgina, Mangan?.
<br />The new C3ty Engiaeer, Mr. Riehard Labas, was formally pr eaented to the Commission by Mayor
<br />Christman. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by secretary I,aPonza a.nd corrected to ahow
<br />that the Commission and the audience rose to pay their last rQapecta to our f ormer fire
<br />chief, A4r. Earl W. Donaldson, with a silent prayer.
<br />The following was aleo to be inserted under George Welach "A block was to be deeded to the
<br />City and a 50 foot radius easement was to show until the roa.d ia extended."
<br />Mr. Macs intxoduced our new member, Jack Foltz, to the members of the commigsion and he was
<br />formally welcomed by the Commimsion.
<br />ORDIIVANCE 64-30 . A communication vras received from Mrc. West, Clerk of Council, in regard to Ordinance 641-30,
<br />asking for a recommendation of the Commission on this proposed ordinance. It waa put on a
<br />f irat reading at the Couricil meeting FebruGry 4, 1964, It was moved by Mr. Yincent, aeconded
<br />by hir. LaPonza, to recommend to Council to have these propoeed signs made up as silouette
<br />eigns rather than a neon type sign. YEAS Vincent, 7aPonza, Kadylak, Maea, Prokasy, Ford,
<br />Foltz.
<br />A progress report from the Building Department wae read including the number of building
<br />permite applied for, the ntxmber alreadp granted, etc. This report has also been sent t0
<br />other City officials.
<br />PROPOSED APARTMENT REZOIITIATG - BUTTERNUT RIDGE ROAD
<br />In regard to the proposed rezoning of Butternut Hidge Road for apartment zoning, after the
<br />committee report,.it was moved by Mr. LaPonza, seconded byr Mr. Ford, to hol@ any action on
<br />this proposal in abeyance until a thorough eearch hae been raade in tlae area and the people
<br />in the az°ea haee been contacted, YF.AS LaPonza, Ford, Kadylalt, Macs, Vincent, Prokasy,
<br />Foltz. Two residents of the area, Mr. Helt and Mx. Cagter, were present and seemed to bo
<br />of the opinion that whatever zoning was applied to one eide of the street should also be
<br />applied to the other side of the atreet.
<br />CLARENCE OvIATm - PROPOSED niEDICAI, BUILDING
<br />After consideration by the committee, it wae moved by Nlr. Vincent, aeconded by Mr. Prokasy,
<br />that the Commission approvea this propoeal provided it ia submitted to the Commission as
<br />originally presented or better and to recommend to Council the rezoaing of the paxcela in
