BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS _ <br />Regular Meeting held at City Hall Februarg.7, 1968 <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by.Mr. Richard Nelson, Chai-rnan. <br />Members Preaent: Mr?s. Eian, Mssrs. Nelson, Greenet Roberts., Forcellini <br />Also Present: Mr. Gundy, Building Commissioner <br />The minutes of t,he 1/3/68 meeting were approved as written. <br />1. Appellant: Cleveland Trust Co, Request for variance to erect a sign in excess <br />of the permitted square footage. <br />Request is in violation of Ordinance 1#62-33, Section 1225.02. <br />Present: Francis Ba.rdon representing Cleveland Trust Co. <br />Mr. Bardon presented revised plans which conform -wi.th our code. The request for <br />variance wa:s withdrawn. <br />2. AppelZant: Burgp-r Ring Restaurant, MJ corner of'Lorain and Canterbury Roads. <br />Request to erect a sign fn Qxcess of the permitted square footage. <br />Presentt Representative of Burger King Restaurant <br />Plans were T)resented for a 160 square foot sign which appellant stated was their <br />standarcl sign and which he felt was needed for identification. 50 sauare feet is <br />allowed bg the code. Mrs. Eianmoved to deny the variance; seconded by Mr. Greene <br />and passed. <br />3. Appellant: Gerald Slabaugho Request to erect a house at "81 Brenda.n Lane <br />- with in9ufficient rear yard. <br />Request is in violation of Ordinance -#62-33, Section 1163.01 which <br />requ3res a 501 rear yard. <br />Present: Mr. Slaba.ugh and Mr. Clingna.n., builder <br />PRr. Slabaugh exnlained that in order to buil.d a larger home to accomodate a grodring <br />family, a. 13.341 rear yard variance was requested. Properties at rear of lot are <br />situated on extremely deep lots.. Mr. Roberts moved tha.t a 13.341 rear yard variance <br />be granted; seconded by Mr. Greene and passed. <br />4. Appellant: Brookhauser Development. Request for variance to erect a sign on <br />5axonts Restaura.nt' 26650 Lorain Road' in excess of permitted square <br />foota,e. <br />Rea,ue5t is in violation of Ordinance #62=33, Section 1225.02. <br />Present: Ray M311er, Jr., owner of Saxon's; Chuck Varga, Construction Superintendant <br />ilans were presented for an illu:ninated sign of redwood and brick construr,tion. <br />Total square footage was 174.61. It was explained that such a large variance would <br />be out of the question. The a..?peZlant tai].1 revise his plans a,.nd present them at a <br />later date. Mr. Greene moved that the case be continued until the next meeting; <br />seconded by Mr. Roberts and passed.
