Greene a.nnounced that beiore any of the pUbZic hear3.ngs wou?d be he?d, the Board had <br />a request for an interpretation of the Ordinance regarding an open deck on a house under <br />construction on Tennyson Lane. 14r. Gundy stated that his decision on granting a perm3t <br />to Mro Nissiin Com#'orti for the outside d.eck that pratrudes into the mznimum side set back <br />area had been anpealed k, a City Offic3al. Mr. <br />Ernest Green seconded the mvtion. He also pointed out that there would be no shortage of'-oarking•space - 175 <br />spaces would be provided whereas on1y 124 are required by the ordinar.ce. Ft.irthu-r discussion <br />was held re-garding the 20 vacant garages that were built in an earlier phase of deveZopment. <br />The new orcli$ance requires 62 enc?osed spaces (I24 i;otal) for PhaQe FrI. Mr. Grady, <br />CounciJ.man in whose ward the pro-oosed apart.*nents are Iacated, stated that he was withdrawing <br />lv.s objections stated in the Zet$er read at last month's hea.ring and stated that after <br />Iearn3ng all the facts i.n the matter, he was recomending that the project be sealed off <br />with a f'ence aroUnd the edges of the develoDment where garcge5 do not seal it off. The <br />fence should be attached to the garages w:ith no open space to w?k through. Pdr. West, <br />Council2nan etated that public hear3.ngs ha.d been held on the new ordxnances and that ne <br />builaers objected to the; e chexiges at the public hearings. Using <br />figures. based on the number of garages in earlier phases that remain vacant; Mr.. Ernsst <br />Green movea that a va.riance be granted to al:low a xeduction in number of garages to be <br />bu3lt from 62 to 43.
