.? <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED9 OHIO <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />November 9, 1971 <br />I. Rol1 Call <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Cha.irman Donald Ledvina. <br />Those present were Messrs. Ledvina, James Davis, Kurt Richards, James <br />Leonard, Edward Byers. Absent: J. Edward Brewer. <br />A1so present: Mr. Ransbury, Assistant to City Engineer; Marge Nader, Secretary. <br />II. Reading and Correction of Minutes <br />Mr. Leonard moved to approve the minutes as presented; seconded by Mr. Davis <br />and unanimously passed. <br />III. Building Department Requests <br />J. L. Goodman Furniture Store, 24167 Lorain Rd. - Mro Rhein of H. L. Vokes <br />presented plans. They have reduced the parking to 50 spaces, therefore <br />leaving room for landscaping which would enhance the area. A discussion <br />was held. Mr. Leonard said he has no objection to the parking. Mre Ledvina <br />stated that a second driveway will have to be put in as it is illegal to have <br />only one driveway. Mr. Leonard suggested that the building be set back 10 or <br />15 feet and the driveway can then be brought across the front. Mr. Davis <br />asked what is behind this property? Mr. Rhein said that it is a wooded area. <br />Mr. Leonard suggested that Goodman Furniture check with Mr. Gundy to be sure <br />tha,t any other driveway that is put in meets the criteria. The committee <br />tabled this matter until the next meeting, <br />Mr. Leonard questioned the fact that asphalt is being put in a11 the way up <br />to the sidewalk for a commercial building between Berkshire & West Park Rd. <br />This is the H.G.M. Realty building, and Mr. Ransbury will contact the Building <br />Departmente <br />IV, 01.d Business <br />(a) 0lmsted Manor - Mr. I;edvina stated that the P ublic Housing Committee met <br />Monday, November 8, with the developers and at this point there is nothing <br />def inite to reportm They indicated that they woul-d get back to Mr. Ledvina <br />and hope to have something by the next meeting. <br />(b) 0lmsted Arms - Mr. Ransbury presented plans. This is an 8 story residential <br />apartment dwelling to be located at 23560 Lorain Rd. Mrs. Hodgins asked how <br />is the sewer drainage on this? Wi11 it be going to the LeBern Station, or <br />will it go directly across Lorain Road? Mr, Ransbury did not think it would <br />go to the LeBern Station, The Engineering Department has not studied the <br />sanitary or storm sewers on this. Mr. Leonard suggested that the Planning <br />Commission receive:a complete engineering report before anything can be <br />considered. Mre Richards moved to place the project in the committee in <br />the whole. Tt was seconded by Mre Leonard and unanimously passed.
