CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED - BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />Regular Meeting Held at City Hall - r ebruary 2, 1972 <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:36 F.M. by' Chairman William- Tubbs. <br />Those Present: Mr. Roberts, Mr. Bergland, Mrs, Eian, Mr. Scheef, Mr. Tubbs <br />Also Present: Mr. Gundy, Building Department <br />1. Appellant: Parker Reynolds, 26890 Lorain Road - Request for <br />variance (1133.13) for Pole Sign No. 3 and 4. Request is in <br />violation of Ord. #62-33, Section 1225.02, which stipulates <br />size and height permitted and, also permits one pole sign only. <br />Present: Mr. Parker Reynolds and Mr. Conrad Rafferty. <br />Messrs o Reynolds and Rafferty were sworn in. They stated they were asking <br />for an additional pole sign plus excess footage on both the used car lot pole <br />sign (8' x 8' or .63 sq. ft. ) and the product sign (11' x 11' or 121 sq. ft. ) e <br />Mr. Tubbs stated they were 71 sq. ft. over variance. Mr. Rafferty said the <br />same 11' x 11' sign was erected at another car dealer in North Olmsted. <br />Mr. Scheef answered that he didn't believe the Board had approved this size <br />sign. In checking the minutes it was found that this dealer's signs had been <br />approved at 6' x 6' and 9'. X 9' • Mr. Scheef assured the parties that they <br />would get the same variance as the other car dealer. Mr. Scheef moved to <br />grant a product sign to be 81 sqo ft. using a height_ of 28.6' and that the used <br />car sign be 36 sq. ft. and installed at a height of 18'.. This would grant a <br />variance of 306 ft. in height and 31 sq. ft. in area and grant a variance for <br />the second pole sign. Motion seconded by Mr. Roberts and unanimously <br />passed. ' <br />2. Appellant: North Olmsted Board of Education - Request for <br />variance (1133.13) to erect 6' fence from the Midvale entrance <br />to North Olmsted High School to the southern point of Northern <br />and from the northern point of Northern Avenue to a point <br />opposite the southern end of the Service. Center of the west <br />property line. Request is in violation of Ord. #62-3.3, Section <br />1151 0 03, fence not to exceed 4' in height. <br />Fres-rnt: Robert Storch, Mrs. Rose Woods, John West, Warren Blakely, <br />. Mr. Swick, Henry Caster <br />All witnesses were sworn in. Mr. Storch of the school board explained that <br />they proposed to install a 6 ft. chain link fence to protect the property lines <br />onti the east side of Burns Road. Mxs. Woods objeeted that if this fenc.e were <br />? erected, the traffic would be sent right around her house. She felt the <br />fence should be extended further. Mr. W.est commented that he had been <br />working for some time because of resident complaints to get this situation
