Roll Call <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Davis at 8:00 p.mo <br />Those present were Ntessrs. Davis, Edward Byers, Kurt Richards, <br />James Leonard, J. Edward Bretaer. <br />Mr. Richards was asked to act as secretary in the absence of <br />Mr. Ledvinao <br />klso present: Dave Ransbury, Assistant to City Engineer, Mr. <br />Ernest Gundy, Building Commissioner and Mrs. Virginia Hodgins9 <br />Recording Secretary. <br />II. Reading and Correction of Minutes <br />Mr. Brewer moved minutes be accepted as submitted, seconded by <br />Mr. Byers and motion passed. <br />II?. Building Department Reques?s <br />(a) Lawson Store at corner of Christman Drive and Lorain Road. <br />NIr. Gundy presented plans for the store (3,582 square feet) <br />ar.d parking layouto There is adequate parkir.g; plan meets <br />the requirements of the ordinance. Flan has 22 parking <br />spaces and requ.irements are for 18e There is driveway on <br />side street which meets requirementso Parking space at <br />norttieast corner was o,uestioned. Loading dock in rear pre- <br />vents use of first parlcing space. lx. Leonard moved to ap- <br />prove the plan. Nir. Richards seconded and the motion passed <br />4 - 1 Vaith Mir. Davis voting no. <br />(b) Columbia Land Development. Mr. Gundy presented plans for <br />retail stores and office building north of Bedrooms, Ur- <br />limited an Great Northern Blvd, There are to be over 123000 <br />wouare feet with 149 parking spaces vhere 1I46 are required. <br />-?roposed building abuts residential. `'hain link fencing It <br />ft. high is behind established stores adjoining. Members <br />of the Commission consulted maps and found 6 homes to be <br />very close to preposed stores. Mr. Byers moved to table pro- <br />posal until next meeting, seconded by T•ir. Brewer and passed. <br />(c) Olmsted Plaza Developers. Nlr. presented proposal for com- <br />pletion of Ntarjak Development. On November 3, 1971 Zoning <br />Board of Appeals granted variance eliminating 226 parking <br />spaces. Nlodel was displayed for #1 and #2. Plan is less <br />area than proposal of last year. Mr. Jaclanan, traffic en- <br />gineer said newer plan develops better traffic pattez-n and <br />there is access to rear for employee parking. The drainage <br />problem in the area has been resolved. There was some ques- <br />tion of proper action to be taken. Air. Zeonard moved to ap-
