J. Saumer, 30399 Lorain Rd. asked about area near Barton Rd. He was told
the month of August was spent by members of the Commission examining parcels
in regard to land, topography of properties alorg Lorain-Road and behind
properties on Lorain Rd. N?r. Prokasy explained excess of land zoned for re-
tail as outlined by Regional Planning Commission so this new plan was devised.
There are several reasons for split in Barton Road area rezoning - south side
backs up to Metropolitan Park Vihile the south side back up into business area.
Excess of land zoned for retail necessitated reduction of 180 some acres. Of-
fice residential is use most applicable.
D. A. Mr.
Prokasy referred to Land Planning regulation book. Height and space limita-
tions suggested by Regional Planning are two story or 30 ft. TH,?o and on-half
story is now recommended. Area limitations will have to be included in new
ordinance to be drawn. Intent is to retain items in present code such as 50
ft. set back. Mr. Ernest mentioned the two parcels just west of Elmhurst and
backing up into Metropolitan Park and how ideal they could be for hi-rise.
Mr. Es°nest quoted Mayor Christman from a May, 1973 meeting.
Height of hi rise was discussed; prices for land were discussed.
Reoycled Bond - One etep to eave oux eavironment
