Roll Call <br />Secretary Tischler called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />Present: Secretary Tischler, Mr. Elliott, Acting Secretary <br />N"?rs. Eian and Mr. Prokasy. <br />A1so present: Mr. Gundy, Building Commissioner, Mr. McDermott, <br />Acting City Fngineer, Mr. M. Gareau, Law Direc- <br />tor and Virginia Hodgins, Recording Secretary. <br />II. Review and Correction of P11ii.nutes <br />Mrs. Eian moved minutes of September 24, 1974 Planning Commis- <br />sion meeting be approved as written. Mr. Prokasy seconded. <br />Iqotion passed. <br />III. Building Department Requests <br />(a) Old Requests <br />(1) Cleary Realty - new savings and loan building - Lorain <br />Road sonth side west of McKenzie Rd. <br />Jim Judge, Pres. of.Cleary Realty and Architect Miller <br />were present. Mr. Gundy showed plans for the building. <br />Proposed is acces drive onto McKenzie Rd. Drainage was <br />discussed. Nir. Prokasy moved for approval of parking, <br />traffic access and stipulation for underground reten- <br />tion. Mr. Elliott seconded the motion. During discus- <br />sion Mrs. Eian mentioned it is not good policy to set <br />one building in front of another; also how long will <br />Cleary remain and not another business requiring more <br />parking. It wac stated by other Planning Commission <br />members that Cleary Realty is now an attractive bui].d- <br />ing and site. Plan meets the code. Building is certi- <br />fied for use as office. Before Planning Commission is <br />problem of location of parking. Additional building is <br />poor planning but Planning Commission must follow the <br />law. Mr. Judge stated plans are highest and best use <br />of the land. Cleary owns access driveway 1.ot. Parking <br />now used for Cleary Realty will be used for bank and more <br />parking in rear of Realty BuiZding will be used for that <br />building. Short cut traffic is to be curtailed. Mr. <br />Prokasy moved to amend his motion to 3.nclude minimum of <br />two speed bumps on access drive to McAenzie. Mr. Tischler <br />? seconded the motion. Motion to amend passed. Motion to <br />approve passed.
