BOARD OF ZO1vING APPEALS <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 9, 2013 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Ms. Rudolph called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers and led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Present: Jennifer Rudolph, Michael Raig, Maureen Diver, Alfredo Lopez <br />Absent: Laura Bellido <br />Staff: Director of Law Michael Gareau Jr., Director of Planning & Development Kim <br />Wenger, Clerk of Commissions Donna Rote <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Raig moved, seconded by Ms. Diver, to approve the minutes of August 5, 2013 which <br />passed 4-0. <br />RESIDENTIAL APPEALS AND REQUESTS <br />CMS13-25: Jan Arcuri; 6368 Hastings Drive <br />Proposal consists of a shed. The following variance is requested: <br />1. A 72 sq ft variance for a shed larger than code allows; code permits 120 sq ft, applicant <br />shows 192 sq ft, Section 1135.02(D)(1). Note: New shed will replace the existing shed. <br />The oath was administered to Jan Arcuri. Mr. Arcuri said the existing shed is rusting and needs <br />to be replaced and the one chosen is slightly larger to accommodate his tools. Ms. Wenger said <br />it appeared replacing the shed would be warranted, but as the placement of the shed is highly <br />visible she asked if any trees would be removed. Mr. Arcuri said one tree was removed to <br />accommodate the new shed. Ms. Diver asked if the shed would be placed in the same location <br />and Mr. Arcuri said yes. Ms. Wenger noted the sanitary sewer easement and asked if the shed <br />would be placed within the easement area and Mr. Arcuri said no. Mr. Gareau asked if the shed <br />would be placed within the swale and Mr. Arcuri said it would be placed behind the swale. Mr. <br />Gareau said due to the easements in the proposed location, the Building Department will need to <br />determine the shed's final placement. Board members had no objections to the size of the shed <br />due to the size of the lot. <br />Mr. Lopez moved, seconded by Ms. Rudolph, to grant CMS13-25: Jan Arcuri of 6368 <br />Hastings Drive a 72 sq ft variance for a shed larger than code allows; code permits 120 sq <br />ft, applicant shows 192 sq ft, Section 1135.02(D)(1) which passed 4-0. <br />COMMERCIAL APPEALS AND REQUESTS <br />CMS13-26: CVS Pharmacv; 27713 Lorain Road <br />Proposal consists of additional signage. The following variances are requested:
