LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />1VIINUTES F012 NOVEMBER 11, 2013 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chairman Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. <br />Present: Paul Schumann, David Neville, Tom Dubowski, Albert Richner, Jim Morse, Rosemary <br />Walker <br />Absent: Maryellen Davis, Don Rerko, Dale Thomas <br />Staff: Clerk of Commissions Donna Rote <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MIlVUTES <br />Mr. Neville moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowski, to approve the Landmarks Commission <br />minutes of September 16, 2013 as amended, which passed 7-0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Historical Home Recognition <br />24048 Mastick Road, Lustron steel house <br />4322 Porter Road <br />• 25747 Butternut Ridge Road <br />Mr. Schumann said the Commission received a letter from the Porter Road homeowner <br />indicating he wasn't interested in having his home recognized due to possible restrictions and <br />costs of inaintaining the home. Mr. Richner said he would research the commission's guidelines <br />pertaining to recognizing a home without an owner's consent and contact the owner to discuss <br />his concerns. Other homeowners had not responded to attempts at outreach. <br />Historical Information SilZns <br />Mr. Morse said he was still worlcing on a layout for a recognition plaque and was hoping to have <br />a sample ready by the next meeting. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Dean & Donna Ziehm; 25687 Butternut RidLFe Road <br />A request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for altering existing roofline. <br />Mr. Schumann said the applicant would like to add a pitch roof over what looks lilce a breezeway <br />between the house and garage. Mr. Ziehm said there's a breezeway which was finished off and <br />has a flat rubber roof with a 4-inch pitch towards the back. Mr. Neville asked if the garage roof <br />would also be pitched and aslced how the roof would be drained. Mr. Ziehm said the garage roof <br />was fine so it would remain as is for now. Mr. Morse asked how the water would be channeled
