CITY OF NORTgI OLMSTED <br />ARTS COMMISSION <br />MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 24, 2014 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chairman Brake called the special meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. at the North Olmsted Senior <br />Center. <br />Present: Bill Brake, Sue Collander, Lauren Suter, JoAnn DePolo, Annie Kilbane, Cailey <br />Bralce, David Wahl <br />Absent: Nicole McClain, Stephanie Procter, Jeff Campbell, Laura Simna <br />Staff: Kim Wenger <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Holiday Marlcet & Tree Lightin? <br />The event will talce place on Monday, December lst at the North Olinsted Senior Center, <br />Community Cabin and exterior spaces around the building in the parlc, including the gazebo. <br />Time is set for 6:00-8:30pm. <br />Bill supplied members with a draft production schedule that could be used to organize this and <br />other Commission events. Each production leader would provide their set up needs and tiines <br />which will fill in on the main spreadsheet. <br />Updates: <br />Craft vendors: Stephanie and Jaclcie are coordinating craft vendors who will be set up in the <br />Activities Rooin. They have devised a room layout and vendor contract and worlcing to identify <br />participants. Tables are $20. Their materials are ready to be sent out once the brand is finalized. <br />Food: Annie said she and Beclci are working to identify food vendors. Sweet and Short <br />(cupcalces) is in and Donut Lab has been contacted. No free food will be provided. Other food <br />ideas are kettle corn, roasted chestnuts or pretzels. Food should be snacky and easy to set up and <br />eat. Sue will plan for both hot chocolate and coffee in a tented area on the patio. Water can be <br />available from the cabin lcitchen. <br />Music: Kim has secured the Blaclc and Orange Choir froin Chestnut, the High School Brass <br />Ensemble and the High School A Cappella Choir. The youngest lcids will go first, followed by <br />the brass finishing with the a cappella group. Recorded music will be played after Santa arrives <br />to the conclusion of the evening. <br />Animals: Bill has researched sled dogs and reindeer. He has secured sled dogs for the event that <br />will do demonstrations but not give rides. They are appearing for free, a donation by firefighter <br />Todd Kirlcpatriclc. Reindeer cost $400/hour plus mileage. Bill will try to find a sponsor.
