PLANNING & DESIGN COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINTUES OF JANUARY 8, 2014 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chairman.Malone called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers and led the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Present: Greg Malone, Julie Nader, David Anderson, Rosemary Walker, Don Rerko <br />Absent: Paul Schumann, Ralph Bohlmann <br />Staff: Planning & Development Director Kimberly Wenger, Assistant Law Director Bryan <br />O'Malley, City Engineer Pietro DiFranco <br />BOARD ORGANIZATION <br />Mr. Rerko moved, seconded by Ms. Nader to appoint Greg Malone as Chair for 2014, <br />which was approved unanimously. <br />Mr. Rerko moved, seconded by Mr. Malone to appoint Julie Nader as Vice Chair for 2014, <br />which was approved unanimously. <br />Mr. Malone moved, seconded by Ms. Nader to appoint Paul Schumann as the <br />representative to the Landmarks Commission and Rosemary Walker as the representative <br />to the Master Plan Steering Committee, which was approved unanimously. <br />Mr. Rerko moved, seconded by Ms. Nader to appoint Greg Malone as the representative to <br />the Housing Council, which was approved unanimously. <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Malone moved, seconded by Ms. Walker, to approve the minutes of October 23, 2013, <br />which was approved unanimously. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />CMS13-41- Rezoning & Lot Consolidation; 31512-31546 Lorain Road <br />Proposal consists of rezoning and consolidating four (4) individual parcels currently identified as <br />PPNs 234-02-003 (1.81 ac.), 234-02-004 (0.32 ac.), 234-02-005 (0.32 ac.), and 234-02-014 (0.59 <br />ac.) to form a single parcel containing within its boundaries approximately 3.0467 acres. The <br />parcels are currently all zoned Limited Industrial and the applicant requests to rezone to Motorist <br />Service District. ' <br />Ms. Wenger said that Motorist Service District is a commercial district regulated by Chapter 1139, <br />which also regulates General Business Retail. The code describes the intent of the district, which <br />includes providing areas to promote economic development in areas directly related to freeway <br />interchanges to serve the needs of through and local motorists.
