BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES OF AUGUST 3, 2015 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Ms. Rudolph called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers and led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Present: Jennifer Rudolph, Laura Bellido, Bob Papotto, Eric Allain, Michael Raig <br />Staff: Law Director Gareau, Assistant Building Commissioner Daniel Russell, Clerk of <br />Commissions Donna Rote <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Raig moved, seconded by Mr. Allain, to approve the minutes of June 22, 2015 as <br />written, which passed 4-0. Ms. Rudolph abstained. <br />RESIDENTIAL APPEALS AND REQUEST <br />15-2640: Rvan Kinlev; 30940 Lorain Rd. <br />Proposal consists of a detached garage. The following variance is requested: <br />1. A 1 ft. variance for the height of the garage; code requires 15 ft., applicant shows 16 ft., <br />Section 1135.02(c) (1). <br />Ms. Rudolph moved, seconded by Mr. Raig, to table 15-2640: Ryan Kinley of 30940 Lorain <br />Road and reschedule the request to 9/14/15 as no representative was present, which passed <br />5-0. <br />15-3517: Craig Riedel; 5352 Willet Circle <br />Proposal consists of a shed. The following variances are requested: <br />1. A 72 sq. ft. variance for a 12 x 16 shed; code permits 120 sq. ft., applicant shows 192 sq. ft., <br />Section 1135.02(d). <br />2. A 5 in. variance for shed height; code permits 9 ft., applicant shows 9 ft. 5 in., Section <br />1135.02(d). <br />The oath was administered to Craig Riedel and neighbors Bobbie Noe and Jennie Morrow. Mr. <br />Riedel said he replaced an existing metal shed and a Rubbermaid shed. He didn't know it <br />required a permit, and he wasn't aware of size limitations. The purpose of the shed is to store <br />yard tools and seasonal furniture. Ms. Noe asked if the shed would be used as a workshop as she <br />is concerned the noise levels from the neighbor's yard which is already loud due to the pool will <br />increase. The backyards are not very deep and during the time frame spent building the shed on <br />the weekends the noise volume was quite disturbing. She doesn't object if the shed is only used <br />for storage. Ms. Morrow said she is against the shed being approved if it is to be used as a <br />workshop. Mr. Riedel said there are times he will do things around his home but it's mainly for <br />storage. Ms. Rudolph said an anonymous letter opposing the shed would be added to the file. Mr. <br />Papotto asked if the height measurements were accurate. Mr. Riedel said the height measurement
