CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARTS CONIlVIISSION <br />NIINUTES OF JUNE 15, 2016 <br />6:30PM <br />ROLL CALL <br />This meeting was called to order at 6:36 p:m. by James Aspery in Council's Caucus Room. <br />Present: JoAnn DePolo, Stephanie Procter, Annie Kilbane, Jeff Campbell, Laura Simna, Lauren <br />Suter, Sue Collander, Jackie Anderson <br />Absent: Bill Brake, Leah Rogalski Davis <br />Staff: Planner James Aspery <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Lauren moved, seconded by Jackie, to approve the Arts Commission minutes of May 18, 2016 <br />which passed unanimously. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />"Focus: North Olmsted" Citv Hall Galler_y <br />James led with an overview of the gallery and sample application. JoAnn proposed hosting a <br />reception in late September or early October to recognize the talents of the selected artists, with <br />various members contributing ideas regarding the location. Possible venues include JoA.nn <br />DePolo Studio & Gallery, the Senior Center, Springvale, Old Town Hall, the Rec Center Activity <br />Room, and the North Olmsted Library. After narrowing down feasible locations for an art <br />reception, Laura and Lauren reviewed potential dates using the library's online event calendar. <br />Several dates were suggested and consequently ruled out, and it was ultimately determined that <br />JoAnn will take the date/time input received from the Commission and reach out to the library <br />for scheduling. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Summer & Fall Events <br />Great Northern Art Gallerv <br />James summarized the proposed art gallery concept in Great Northern Mall, explaining that the <br />project will have to be placed on hold until the Mall replaces their now-vacant marketing <br />coordinator position. <br />NOEF & NOBO Event and Fall. "Harvest Fest" / Autumn event <br />James prefaced the NOEF & NOBO event as a way for the Arts Commission to engage with the <br />North Olmsted Band and Choir and North Olmsted Education Foundation in hosting a <br />performance at an upcoming event.
