The following variances are requested:
1. A 580 sq. ft. variance for a maximum size of an accessory storage building; code permits
300 sq. ft., applicant shows 880 sq. ft., Section 1135.02(d)(1).
Note 1: Lot size 58,300 sq. ft. - allowable accessory structure 300 sq. ft. at 12 ft. in height.
Note 2: Existing shed will be removed per applicant's request.
Mr. Musat stated that the rear lower portion of the proposed building would be used as a
woodshop and the rest of the building would be for storage. The front portion and upper floor
would be storage. Mr. Noeth stated that the building is 16 feet wide and 40 feet long and the
overhang would be 6 feet wide and 40 feet long, so the total coverage would be 880 square feet.
Discussion regarding height of building, no variance is required for the height. Mr. Papotto was
concerned about the large difference between the proposed building and what is allowed by
code. Mr. Raig pointed out that Mr. Noeth was willing to remove the overhang which may be a
possibility. Ms. Meredith believed the building exceeded the code by too much. Mr. Raig pointed
out that the property was on the border of commercial property and he believed the building
would not look out of place in this location due to the size of the property. Mr. Allain said a
woodshop could be created in a smaller building. He added that the porch adds architectural
character to the building but the size is excessive. He said the value of the home would be
increased for this owner but was concerned about what would happen for future residents.
Mr. Papotto moved, seconded by Ma-. Allain, to grant as written 16-5160; Bob 1VIusat; 6180
Barton Road to build an accessory structure with the following variance:
1. A 580 sq. ft. variance for a maximum size of an accessory storage bualding; code
permits 300 sq. ft., applicant shows 880 sq. ft., Section 1135.02(d)(1).
