LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES FOR APRIL 11, 2016 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Neville called the meeting to order at 7:06 pm in Council Chambers and led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Present: David Neville, Tom Dubowski, Jim Dubelko, Gretchen Schuler, Duane Limpert, Jim <br />Morse, Paul Schumann <br />Staff: Planner James Aspery, Administrative Assistant Nicole Rambo <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Morse asked that the minutes be revised to show that he was not against homeowners doing <br />the research on their own homes for the Centennial Home project. <br />Ms. Schuler moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowski, to. approve the Landmarks Commission <br />minutes of March 14, 2016 as revised, motion passed 7-0. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />16-4974; Paul Accordino; 25747 Butternut Ridge <br />Proposal consists of a Certificate of Appropriateness for a new garage. <br />Mr. Accordino's submittal was approved by BZBA at the April4t" meeting. The dimensions of <br />the garage were shortened, thereby decreasing the building's square footage. Mr. Dubelko <br />clarified that the fagade will be the same as the initial submittal. Mr. Accordino added that the <br />building has fewer windows and the second floor will only be a loft storage area above the <br />garage door. The building will have a gambled style roof. Mr. Aspery added that the accessory <br />shed will be removed when the garage is built. Mr. Accordino stated that the driveway will be <br />extended to reach the detached garage. A trench drain will be installed in front of the building to <br />reduce water issues. Mr. Neville stated that he is not concerned about the roof style since the <br />building should not be very visible from the street. <br />Ms. Schuler moved, seconded by Mr. Morse, to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness <br />for 16-4974; Paul Accordino; 25747 Butternut Ridge, motion passed 7-0. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Centennial Home Program <br />Mr. Aspery reviewed the approach to begin the research for the Centennial Home project. The <br />Planning Department will assist with writing letters to homeowners, plaque design and all <br />aspects of advertising and media for the program. Members were given sections of the city to do <br />research on. The goal is to announce the program in June and start rolling the program out in <br />September.
