PLANNING & DESIGN COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES OF JANUARY 11, 2017 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Malone called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers and led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Present: Greg Malone, David Anderson, Don Rerko, Julie Nader, Paul Schumann, Darrick <br />Matthews <br />Absent: Tom Patton <br />Staff: Planning Director Kim Wenger, Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley, Planner James <br />Aspery, Administrative Assistant Nicole Rambo-Ackerman <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Ms. Nader moved, seconded by Mr. Schumann, to approve the Planning & Design <br />Commission minutes of December 13, 2016, motion passed 6-0. <br />COMMISSION ORGANIZATION <br />Ms. Nader moved, seconded by Mr. Schumann, to appoint Mr. Malone as chair for 2017 <br />motion passed 5-0, Mr. Malone abstained. <br />Mr. Malone moved, seconded by Mr. Schumann, to appoint Ms. Nader as vice chair for <br />2017, motion passed 5-0, Ms. Nader abstained. <br />Mr. Rerko nominated Mr. Schumann for the Landmarks Commission, which passed 5-0, <br />Mr. Schumann abstained. <br />Mr. Anderson nominated himself for the Housing Council, which passed 5-0, Mr. <br />Anderson abstained. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />16-7391; Universitv Hospital Medical Office; 26127 Lorain Road <br />Representatives: John Crook, Carnegie Management, 27500 Detroit Road, Westlake, OH <br />Ms. Wenger stated that this proposal consists of repurposing an existing commercial building for <br />medical offices and demolishing a neighboring commercial building for accessory parking and <br />site improvements. The project was tabled at the Commission's December meeting pending plan <br />changes and the disposition of setback and lighting variances by the BZBA. The variances were <br />granted at the January 9th BZBA meeting. Since the previous meeting, the applicant has proposed <br />a change to the color scheme of the building. The main field will remain white, however the <br />accent colors will be two tones of gray rather than beige. The applicant submitted a material <br />specifications sheet prior to the meeting.
