CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARTS COMNIISSION <br />NIINUTES OF JiJLY 19, 2017 <br />6:30PM <br />ROLL CALL <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:34 p.m. in Council's Caucus Room. <br />Present: Annie Kilbane, Jackie Anderson, Laura Simna, Stephanie Procter, Leah Rogalski Davis, <br />Lauren Suter <br />Absent: Janelle Zauner <br />Staff: Planner James Aspery <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Jackie moved to approve the Arts Commission minutes of June 21St 2017, seconded by Stephanie. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />OLD BUSI1oTESS <br />Event Itecaps <br />Lauren, Leah and James reported that despite rain ending the concert early, it was attended by an <br />estimated 50+ attendees. James reported that Wilbeck's BBQ and Gee Gee's Kettle Corn did <br />well over the course of the evening. He added that Billy Morris and the Sunset Strip Band played <br />a crowd-pleasing set, earning their paycheck for the evening even with the abbreviated set. <br />James recapped the June 24`h and July 15t' Westside Flea events, thanking everyone who helped <br />on both days. The crafts seemed to be a big hit with the smaller kids, making the table a <br />worthwhile endeavor. He added that increased exposure for the Commission's work and events <br />is always a welcome thing, especially when the table is free and in a high-traffic event. It was <br />agreed by all that the Commission is interested in the August 19' event, as long as there are <br />people to cover all shifts. James will send out a Doodle to confirm shifts. <br />ONGOING BUSINESS <br />NOCS School Garden Project <br />Stephanie confirmed the NOCS Garden Council's first work date will be Friday, July 28th and <br />shared the Garden Council's new website: www.nocs .? com. She stated that WOW Cable <br />employees will be offering their assistance to accomplish most of the heavy lifting. She also <br />thanked the City and Matt Davis for lining up mulch and topsoil, respectively. A second work <br />day will be scheduled for some time next month; the Arts Commission can help promote this <br />through social media and the normal City information channels. <br />Ideas for future involvement were discussed, such as a cooking demonstration using garden <br />produce, an Earth Fair table/display displaying garden produce and obtaining continuing <br />sponsorships to keep the garden operating in the future. <br />Frostville Farmer's Market <br />James confirmed the table schedule and craft activities for the Saturday, July 22°d Frostville <br />market. The group agreed on the following schedule: <br />9-10am: Leah and James (set up) <br />10-llam: Leah and Stephanie
